Okay first - let's stop using the word woke. It's a meaningless DeSantis catch-all term, and I'm sure no one here actually likes that clown.
But yes, this is surely a marketing ploy by a brand that, as many have noted, cater to the rich and priviliged.
What I find funny is that these are four objectively good-looking women who will enhance their brand regardless of what off-shade of white they might be.
Oiselle will impress me when they "sponsor" some low-income, high-needs diversity that really need the support in order to continue their athletics career.
Leftists love controlling the language and always have. They used to call people "colored people", now they call them "people of color". Just nonsense leftist speak, trying to constantly provoke a race war amongst us regular people so we don't pay attention to the destruction of our country that the elites are committing. Don't fall for this stupid propaganda, more black people in America get pro track contracts than white people and it has ALWAYS been that way.

The picture is hilarious. They all look white or nearly white. In "real life" most of them would pass the so-called paper bag test. What is the paper bag test? In ballet, for example, it's said you can't become a professional ballerina unless your skin is lighter than a standard paper bag. Misty Copeland, who is mixed, passes.
I think it's funny how so many woke brands are giving themselves big pats on the back for hiring POC, but the women they hire or represent or advertise with are largely either mixed, or Asian or Hispanic or other light-skinned women, as opposed to people who are Black and not mixed. Saying, "we hire / sponsor POC" is a much lower bar than, "we hire / sponsor black people."
Has Oiselle ever had a really successful athlete? I think their sponsorship is mostly for show. I don't get the feeling their athletes are getting a ton of money. And I also don't see a of of loyalty towards their athletes either. They have a bad year or two, they get dropped. Since they tend to sponsor somewhat marginal athletes to begin with, that's a high likelihood event.
I’ve read a little about the use and origins of “BIPOC” and how it was supposed to mean “Black AND Indigenous People of Color,” so kind of an alliance of groups with non-competing claims: black oriole want reparations and Indians want their land back. But most people use it to mean “Black, Indigenous, AND People of Color,” so anyone who isn’t fully white. “POC” usually has a meaning derived from this latter sense, also meaning of “anyone that isn’t totally white,” even though neither sense of “BIPOC” defined the “People of Color” that way. But to your point, it does make me laugh , the way people tried to unify “POC” as a group but still get mad about not helping or benefitting the “correct” POC. What, Oiselle’s POC aren’t dark enough, how dare they!
Woke Capitalism to score high on HRC measures.
Take a look at this picture from their group run in Seattle. Is it 100% white? or just 98%?
I can't tell by that one person. No wonder they faded the photos in the press release to black and white.
Someday threads like this will be examined by people who think what backwards idiots so many were in our day with their focus on race. Look forward to a more evolved society.
