Often, social media posts are calculated in such a way to draw the most attention possible. Teenagers would post stuff like "I'm done with you" on facebook 10-15 years ago, and people would respond trying to figure out who "you" was or what was going on, where if the teen had said "I'm done with Sarah" there wouldn't be as much engagement because the story is all told. A bit of mystery or leaving things unspoken drives engagement.
