I don't have a problem with Christians, I just wish they'd stop jamming their ideology down our throats. I mean, kids watch these things. There's no need to expose them to that.
One of my biggest bug bears has always been how patronizing she is: "great job" or "good job" is what she always says, dismissively, after the race to the other runners...who comer over to HER to congratulate her. I hate that. "great job"? Who are you, my coach?
Dismissively? You're making that up. Sydney has never acted dismissive of other runners. That is just your imagination.
So basically you are lumping people of faith all in one boat. Sounds like religious bigotry to me.
Since you are inferring things I did not imply, I was tempted to just ignore you, but I'll give this one more try for those who have trouble with reading comprehension.
IF God fails to intervene in a bad situation and does not, he either hasn't the power, doesn't care to, or doesn't exist. So, he's either impotent, evil or fictional. It is intellectually dishonest for people of any faith to claim they KNOW that God has intervened in something in a positive way, but that they DON'T KNOW BECAUSE HE'S MYSTERIOUS when he fails to act. People of faith either know God's will or they don't.
Hey wanted to apologize lots of people you see posting about religion and christianity prefer to lump people into groups and call people names like bigot etc.. That isn't true Christianity at all. Jesus sure would not approve of that. In response to your question though I hope you saw my earlier reply that responded to your first two posts. It was in the middle of the third page. I seek to understand where you are coming from in this so if I get anything wrong or you have any further questions please call me out on it. If you follow the basic story of the Bible it is about how mankind is impacted by sin, and Jesus's death and resurrection to save us from ourselves. If God acted in every bad situation all of us would face judgement because nobodies hearts are pure. God is a perfect God and we are not perfect humans, we instead are messed up we go and commit horrible acts against one another. Because of this I would beg to add a 4th reason to your list of reasons for why God may not act, and that 4th reason is because he is a merciful God. If he acted all the time when bad situations happened his judgement would be on us, and it would take away our free will. It also can be pointed out that he did act around 2000 years ago. And that act that he committed was to die for all of our sins so he could wipe us clean of them and restore our relationship with him. If you have a relationship with Jesus you realize that he works out everything for the good of those who love him. And that good is not always seen on this earth, which is why it is hard to know God's will with 100% certainty 100% of the time because he is an infinite God and we are finite beings, but it is certain that his will is good in the end though even through times that are not good. I hoped this answered your question!
I agree. I think its cool what she does even if she didn't have faith in Christ. She is insanely talented, it is awesome stuff to be running that fast. I just don't want the person I was replying to to be left with the impression that all Christians are bigots and hypocrites who don't know what they believe in.

Christianity is your belief system and that’s great that it works for you. Just because you believe in something wholeheartedly does not mean it is the truth however.
Maybe I have missed a previous post but 48.74s for Sydney is mighty impressive considering she has only starting focusing on the event in the last 2 months or so. Approximately a 1 second improvement on her previous best. Also the 4th best time for the women’s 400m since 2006! Given she’s still only 23 it will be exciting to see how much further she can lower it.
Ok great. It's easy to run when a person is at the twink body weight of 160 LBS and below at heights of 6'2 and below.
Unless she deadlifts 475 for 5 full reps before that 48.74 then it doesn't count. She's allowed a 21 minute rest though between the 475 for 5 and the 400 meter dash.
Bottomline. Doesn't count unless she does 475 LBS for 5 full reps beforehand. Touch and go is ok. And straps are allowed.
Wow a 48.74 at her online listed height and weight of 5'9 and a FULL TWINK WEIGHT OF 137 LBS.... WOW SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
How many more 400's will Sydney race this year? Would you bet on her breaking the American record before, at or after the World Championships?
What will end up being her season PB's for the 400m and 400m hurdles?
Who cares? She's never going to do 475 for 5 on deadlifts before hand so what's it matter if she breaks the AR or not? You people think these people are athletes or something just because they are on TV?
The female WR should be at 45.93 by now in this. Even the 47.6 is weak.
Bottomline. She needs to do 475 for 5 before the 400 race and then break 48.00 seconds in the 400 in the same day or it DOESN'T COUNT.

deadlift is an amusing exercise, especially with straps and bouncing off floor. Athletic prowess at its best, as if.

What are you even doing on a running forum? Weighing “full twink weight” is a commonality among many posters on here.

The quoting of proverbs is also totally cringeworthy. When the 3 of them were interviewed on the track post-race, Wilson stood out to me as just a regular girl. No thanking him in the sky.
Eagerly waiting on her to quote Genesis 19:4-5 or Deuteronomy chapter 29 when her DL husband comes out the closet.
Watch the very end of the interview after Diggs thanks God and Wilson nods her head and may even have said “ yes”.
I think all 3 of them consider themselves to be “normal”. To you and your circle of friends, maybe they're not “normal”.
So, if it bothers you so much, please stop watching.

I'm pretty sure Wilson was nodding her head in complete bemusement of the whole nonsense of it all.
As I said, eagerly awaiting which Bible quotation she uses when her husband comes out. Now THAT I really wanna watch.

You are totally wrong. Like Diggs and McLaughlin, Britton Wilson is also very religious.
Are we still mired in this religious stuff? Why does it bother people so much when "God" is thanked, or whatever?
Everyone's perception is their reality. If they believe that "God" is helping them or giving them strength, so what? Why does it bother people so much?
As a Jew, I consider myself to be of a Classical Reform Judaism nature. Anyone familiar with the Jewish faith knows that Reform Jews run the gamut of observance. I do not consider myself to be that observant or religious. Just because I am not, doesn't mean that I care about the beliefs of others.
Personally I couldn't care less who Syd, Diggs, or Wilson thank after their events. I just like watching them compete. Syd & Wilson are among my favorite women track athletes. I just wish that Syd competed a bit more.

He has a 52.xx or 53.xx f.a.t. 400m p.b. His opinions and experiences add value.

With the current crop of talent it would be nice to see someone break 48 sec.
They can't. Not strong enough.
The female WR should be at 44.93 by this point. The male WR should be at 40.93 by this point after further calculations.
