Why didn't they take the men?
Isn’t Oregon joining the Big 10?

Spencer has hit a whole different plan; 3:31 is so far ahead of anything in the Big Ten other than from UW. Is there much chance of anyone else getting higher than fourth? This is not quite like 2005 where they went 1/2/3/4/6/7/8/9 The guy in ninth got beat by only one runner from the other schools but did not make All-Big Ten, since he was eighth on the team and hence was not officially in the results. The score was UW 16, Big Ten 47 and no other team was under 100 . UW won the NCAA meet with 37 points (105 for Arkansas in second).
Oh, yeah, both the Big Ten meet on the NCAA Regional are in Madison (which might be important for the women).
A lot has changed since '05. UW will dominate this year, but not because they are a national powerhouse as they were for decades. In '05, there were 4 other men's Big Ten teams besides Wisconsin at NCAA XCs, including 3 other top 20 squads. Now, maybe lucky if Michigan gets through and finishes 29th? On the individual side in 2005, 9 non-Badgers Big Ten men finished in the top 100 at Nats. Last year, that number was 2.
Mick Byrne's Badger men are fortunate to have gotten worse at a time when the Big Ten as a whole has also fallen. The Big 12, Big East, and Big Sky are all better men's XC leagues than the Big Ten.

Oregon and UCLA are joining in 2024.
Mick Byrne needs to be forced to retire. He turned a great program into an also ran. Twice they haven’t even made nationals and before him, they were to 10 every year.
He can’t even recruit. All he does is bring in kids from Australia, New Zealand or Britain. How do you let someone like Aloysius Franzen go to Minnesota? It seems like half of MN’s team is from WI. The list of good in state kids leaving is a long one. They haven’t even brought in a Foot Locker National qualifier since 2019. Name the last blue chip kid that they landed? Finn Gessner probably and he was a massive bust. What about Austin Henderson and Jake Bourget, what happened to them? Both were due to be solid contributors the next couple years. Neither are on the roster anymore.
And why don’t you run your best guys in your own prestigious invite? To only run 3 of your top 7 at the premier xc meet in the country is stupidity. Meet results do come into play for nationals.
Wisconsin is still good enough to attract a top coach. Perhaps they could convince Solinsky to come back. I mean Schumacher was an unknown when he took over at Wisconsin, why not give Solinsky a shot. Wisconsin needs to do something to stay competitive with Oregon and Washington joining the Big 10.
I agree with you. But they make big money hosting, Nutty, B10, regional, and they have nationals next year. He likely is getting big bonuses for those things. The AD loves it.

The UMN is adding the top 2 MN seniors as well - Sam Scott and Nolan Sutter
And possibly Bode Erickson (he’s visited but not committed anywhere yet), a far better class than WI has landed in a while.
Look who crawled out of Jerry and Chris’ underwear. Once Friday is over, Mick will be the most decorated coach in Big Ten history. Your beef with local kids leaving for another school is hilarious. To think that every kid in the state goes to Madison is insane. The ncaa has changed a lot since Jerry. Hes finding that out for himself in Eugene. Chris S hasnt done $hit as a coach and is still living off the 10k he ran decades ago. Nobody cares about the Nutty meet with relation to big ten and nationals. Win your conference, get a trophy at ncaa’s and the AD is happy. Go back downstairs to your mothers basement, and if you do come to Zimmer tomorrow, make sure you cheer on the kids in a Badger uniform. Dont be so ignorant to separate out their nationality from the fact that they are running FOR the school that you so call love.
UW didn't do that well at their own invitation, Nuttycombe.

Sharp and Liking will go 1-2, so stfu
Here is the thing...
We all totally understand picking key races during the season.
Mick has certainly taken that to an extreme.
But if guys aren't going to race during the season, our sport is kind of silly. Every other sport competes during a season. And NAU doesn't seem to have a problem racing during the season. While NAU is competing for a national title, UW (if they are truly as good as initially advertised) is competing for 4th at the very best.
Top 4 prediction for tomorrow:
1. Wisco 35points
2. Michigan 100points
3. Purdue 110points
4. Michigan State with 120points
They raced during the season. Liking and others raced in chicago. Your problem seems to be that they didnt race at your beloved Nuttycombe.
For me, this sounds about right. 2 points of reference.
1. during the early and mid days of COVID work-from-home period I started drinking 6-7 days a week. before COVID and now, I tend to only drink on the weekends (2 or 3 days a week).
2. whenever garmin started showing sleep score, I was surprised by how much even a single drink would degrade my sleep.
