First you say a 15 minute guy is transferring. Then you back off to 16. Then it is 15:50. Now it is 16:10. Soon it will be 17 minutes. Nobody is transferring and Cedar Falls will finish 5th.
You’re completely insufferable. You state as if it’s fact that Merrick is two times more likely to transfer out than it is for any fast kid to transfer to Cedar Falls, in spite of someone reporting something they’ve heard, for no reason at all. You have no idea if some 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A kid with a 15:50 PR who ran 16:10 at state (or whatever) might be transferring—not to run XC but I don’t know, maybe because their parents changed jobs? And I think you actually believe you’re all-knowing enough to know that Cedar Falls WILL finish 5th.
So new topic to get people going, How many sub 15 times will we see this season?
We might see sub-15s from Merrick or Maloney at Seminole Valley (which is a pretty sketchy course) or from Zuber at a hypothetical Marshalltown district meet, but I don’t think there will be any sub-15s at State - it’s only been done by Heidesch after all.
Merrick ran a 25:33 8k (15:58 5k pace) in 85 degree weather yesterday:

Dont believe seminole valley is on cf schedule this season, I think zuber, Maloney, Merrick will go sub 15 somewhere this season with a chance of 14:55 to 15:05 at state meet.
No a 15:59 is not a 15 minute 5k. Is a 4 minute mile 4:59?
Find where i ever said 15:00 flat, anyone that knows Iowa xc knows right now there is not a 15 flat runner in iowa. Hopefully when it happens you can admit cf picked up a transfer
A lot of good runners and teams in Iowa this fall and this entire discussion seems to be dominated by two people arguing about one team (CF). Dowling boys won’t score 40 points. But they will likely win even though they may not be the first team with three runners in. Same could be said for Johnston on the girl’s side.

Yup, dont matter to me, Just funny how one person claims to know so much. Lot of teams in the hunt for number 1 at state, Dont think there is an easy pick right now! I really dont think any team will have 5 runners sub 16, but I hope Im wrong and reallt dont mayter which team gets it done would be cool to see and then see them at NXR
The way I see it. Let's see your picks if you disagree
1. Dowling
2. WDM Valley
3. Ankeny
4. Cedar Falls
5. Johnston
6. CR Kennedy
------------- Big gap IMO
7. DCG
8. Waukee NW
9. Norwalk
10. DSM Roosevelt
11. Dub Hempstead
12. Urbandale
13. Southeast Polk
14. Pleasant Valley
15. City High
------------------------
Teams that could make it
Ames
Ankeny Centennial
Bettendorf
Cedar Rapids Prairie
Indianola
Iowa City Liberty
Iowa City West
Waukee
-----------------------------
Individuals to watch

I’ve thought about this. I’ll predict:
1. Dowling
2. DC Grimes
3. Ankeny
4. Hempstead
5. Cedar Falls
6. CR Kennedy
7. Valley WDM
8. Waukee NW
9. Johnston
10. Norwalk
11. Pleasant Valley
12. Ames
13. Linn Mar
14. DM Roosevelt
15. Bettendorf
Curious as to why you have Linn Mar at 13, they lose 4 of their top 6 on a team 30 points behind Bettendorf at Districts. Are they gaining transfers / stud 8th graders?
You came here to start a rumor about a 15 minute guy transferring to Cedar Falls. Sounds like you are a Cedar Falls fan. Then you tell us that 15 minutes could mean 15:59 but you won't provide details. Come on. Nobody else is claiming to know anything except you.

I guess I dont have all the Iowa kids on speed dial to find out, hopefully other poster has done his phone calls.
I checked with coaches in the state. The Transfer is Aldamak from Ames who finished 47th at state in 16:39.
Will he be eligible to run varsity? If so, they will have: Merrick 9:12 / 15:41 Hartman 9:27 / 15:51 Martin 9:58 / 16:25 Ferguson 10:04 / 16:25 Cosidine 10:16 / 16:52 Wiering 17:17 / 10:17 / 4:41 (as a freshman) Aldamak 16:39 / 9:38
That’s an impressive top 7, and they will get a really top 5 out of this group
