Didn't feel like we learned anything about Mu today, to be honest. If she can't run 1:58.7 comfortably six weeks out from worlds something's really wrong, so all we know is she's fit but not at her best right now, which is to be expected. Hope she makes it to a Diamond league meet before Eugene so she can be pushed.
alternative perspective: the rest of the field had a really sub-standard performance and Mu looked far from race sharp. I expected so much more from Sage than a 2:00.77.
Mu really slowed the pack down between 200 to 400, which made the first lap slower than it should have been. The times weren't all that bad considering the slow-ish first lap.
Well, Mu is in good shape now. But is she in good enough shape to beat Keely? Worlds will be interesting.
It doesn’t appear that Mu is in good enough shape to beat Keely if they raced today. But the women’s 800 world championship final is not until August 27. Still more than two months away. I’m confident Mu will be ready by then.
Few athletes are competing this season? What are you talking about? Everyone is competing except for those who are injured.
Well there's the non injured Athing and Sydney for 2.
I totally get that Kersee’s athletes race a disappointing amount, but the Pre Classic/DL final is on September 16-17, so an athlete could start the season in June and still get in a decent season.
TME still running slower than high schoolers. Parsons looked cooked from 600m and can't even blame the field or pacing because he came off Sowinski early
Drew Hunter needs some racing lessons. He let two guys box him in around the 900m mark which left him in a horrible spot with 400m to go in the race and he spent most of the last lap compensating for that mistake.
