How many transgender athletes are there in Ohio? Why does this issue live rent free in your head? Why should state legislatures spend time on this when there are much more pressing issues to address?
There are numerous. One, in fact, won a very prestigious award & scholarship at the Ohio High school Sports Award show for Central Ohio.
And just because there are more important issues doesn't mean this issue isn't important. That's sort of the "Hey it isn't murder" defense for something like sexual assault or rape.
The award being in the female category, it's important to note.
It is so unbelievable that ANYONE, conservative or liberal, would think conservatives do more fear-mongering than the left. What do you call, "Would you rather have a trans-son or a dead daughter?" There is absolutely NO FACTS behind that statement. On the other hand, we KNOW that men are winning at women's sport at an astronomically higher rate than average women. It's not for-mongering when it is true and backed up by facts.

I am not advocating one way or the other on this.
I wanted to verify the claim that there are "numerous" transgender athletes in Ohio and all that I could come up with was the article below. The article states that there are six. Do you have another source that shows there are more than that? If so, please post the link.
Also, please post the link with information about the award that the athlete in central Ohio won.
Lots of people getting bent out of shape over the transsexuals in girls sports. I can understand that, but those same people don’t have a problem when a gay kid gets beat up or killed & that speaks volumes about your lack of decency.
That's a ridiculous claim of yours.
I do not support transgenders competing in girl's/women's sports.
I have a major problem "when a gay kid gets beat up or killed." Any a-hole who harms a gay person (or a straight person) should be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law.
Now, please stop trying to assign crazy a-hole stances to those who disagree with you on transsexuals competing in sports. It would be just as valid as me saying that people who want to allow transsexuals in women's sports also want to be able beat their wives and rape small children. Would that be a reasonable association from your perspective? If not, stop doing the same thing in reverse.
This is 5313 - I did say I understand the unfairness of transgenders in girls sports. Thank you for your statement on gay kids getting beat up…..
My statement about decency is excessively generalized, you represent a good example of the exception. Don’t you will agree that there is some truth in it?
I think it boils down to this: Being transgender is a stressful process. And when part of society is so “hateful” toward you striking back though sports is a legit action.

This is my point. Believe it or not I don't have sharp opinions on this. Ohioguy said, "And just because there are more important issues doesn't mean this issue isn't important. That's sort of the "Hey it isn't murder" defense for something like sexual assault or rape." You're likening the few trans athletes in HS sports to defending sexual assault and rape. That's messed up.
I don't know what the right solution is but banning trans athletes at the high school level & caring this much about that isn't it. I don't think one example is bad enough to warrant the feelings a lot of people have on here, the attention they give this topic, & the hate they spew at children. There were 4 trans HS athletes in Utah so their Republican governor vetoed a similar bill. 6 in Ohio feels right. So why are we talking about this? People aren't losing scholarships. Governing bodies will sort this out. Stuff like the below article is going to become more & more common as people feel emboldened because they've been trained to have such sharp opinions on transgender athletes.
Multiple Connecticut athletes lost their rightful place to compete. Similarly, 2 California girls lost their spot - and they could have had big PRs in the right race.

Gay kids getting beat up has NOTHING to do with transgenders in women's sports. Stop trying to conflate the two. And stop implying that people who object to transwomen competing against women are the same people who don't object to gays being beaten. Or provide evidence to support your claim. Either way, stay on the topic of transgenders in sports.
Striking back?? Is that what transgenders in women's sport is about? I thought it was about inclusion, equity and human rights. "Striking back" reeks of vengeance and hate, not DEI.
Your posts are filled with bad logic fueled by bitterness and anger. Perhaps there are better ways for you to deal with the anger than posting on a running forum.

When the cover photo shows a rainbow PRIDE shirt the gay subject is introduced.
You are using the classic strategy of trying to discredit my post with twisted logic and baseless accusations. Maybe you should take a logic course, start with deductive vs inductive. Good luck!
You're working overtime trying to justify that which has no logical justification. Hate and bitterness will dominate your life if you let it. Seek help elsewhere, this isn't the place to find what you need. Good luck.

But the people you say are "striking back through sports" here are males, and the people who are bearing the entire brunt of their "striking back" are females.
Yes, "being transgender is a stressful process." But that still doesn't mean it's "a legit action" for males who identify as transgender to take it out on the female population.
Lots of people go through all sorts of stressful processes and have a wide variety of difficult crosses to bear in life. Unfortunately, lots of people have experienced treatment from others in society that's "hateful" too. But that doesn't mean those with a hard row to hoe in life are entitled to trespass on other people's territory and take away other people's rights as compensation for their own troubles.
no need to ban any woman regardless of the gender assigned at birth.
'Gender assigned at birth' is nonsense.
If your baby was born with obvious male genitalia and your doctors announced that you had a lovely baby girl/daughter, you'd be filing a medical malpractice lawsuit before you left the hospital.
Gender identity can't be observed at birth because it is a aelf-assigned social construct developed over time. Sex is not gender but it is gender that should dictate how one goes through life. How they dress, they identify, which restroom they use, and what category remember compete in.
Sex is only really important for one thing, reproduction. Since these athletic events are not reproductive tasks only gender identity matters and it should be wide open with no questions asked and no need to alter hormones
This is outside of anything the president can really impact.
I'm disappointed in Ohio. Less people run as the gender they feel. Whether that's trans male or transfemale doesn't matter they are real males and real females.
There is no need to "save women's sports", just line up and do the best you can. Doesn't matter if you come in first place or thousandth place if you did your best.
In that case, we should just have one division in all sports - an open division.
"just line up and do the best you can. Doesn't matter if you come in first place or thousandth place if you did your best."
Is support that. Let the best athlete regardless of gender win. Sometimes it will be a woman, sometimes a man.
