Seems like it might be easier starting more conservatively, like Webb’s race, with El G out in front for that last lap. But without a pacer pulling them through on the final lap, maybe trying to even-split is best.
Colin Sahlman was a solid consideration for breaking the record cause he had similar 800m speed and 5k endurance that Webb had but as far as I'm aware Birnbaum and Burns only have Webb's 5k endurance
looks like it is forecast to be 82F for the race. I hope they all have some ice hats ala Rupp at the 2016 Olympics, although I did see online that it hit 86F when Webb ran a 3:50 so maybe still possible.
