She might need a little more time. I saw an article in which the Duke coach said they thought she had a chance to win the 1500 at indoors but she ran a poor tactical race and was disappointed in the aftermath, to the point it impacted her 3000. He said he told her to keep her head up and look forward.
The same article quoted the coach on Frias, saying it is, "a matter that is unresolved."

Is this Hays last season of eligibility?
Yes like Delay now at UW she lost a season due to Ivy league during covid I believe.
Markezich of ND and Engel of OSU in the 5000 with Chmiel and Hays among others
That's exciting. This will be Markezich's first 5k. I did not realize that she and Andrea Markezich of Wash are identical twins btw. Her sister has been more focused on the long distances it seems.
During Indoors, I was mildly startled watching Andrea run, noticing how similar the sisters' strides are, all the while missing the identical twin connection--until now!
Couldn't find McCabe anywhere among the entries. Hopefully not another setback.
Another thing with Maatoug is that I believe she is of Muslim heritage. I'm not sure how she'll handle training and competing during Ramadan, which began today. Normally it would not be an issue for her since the dates typically fall between her indoor and outdoor seasons in the Netherlands. Obviously that's different with a college track schedule.
I’ve mentioned before, I spend over $100 a month (yes, literally), on all these subscriptions, and I just can’t justify spending more (‘cause I keep justifying it all the time and that’s how it’s gotten to over $100). Not when there are only a couple of times per year I’d ever watch it.

Ramadan 'fasting' is more like time shifting your meals. You fast during sunlight and eat 3 meals at nite: 7pm, 11pm, sleep 6am breakfast before sunrise.
Technically on my typical normal day, I fast between 9pm and 7am anyway just between snack and breakfast. I just shift this period to match sunlight.

Was Mccabe injured or something during Indoors?
“This has been a very trying month for Ceili on numerous fronts, and for her to come out to this meet and perform so well is a testament to her remarkable tenacity. One day, all of her ducks will align, and if they do, the sky is the limit.”
For the second straight year, Ceili McCabe finishes among the nation’s best in the 3,000-meter. The WVU sophomore finished sixth in the event at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sat…

No clue about McCabe’s recent injury status. Post-race interviews and podcast appearances are rare, so words from her coach will have to do. Let’s hope she finds a smooth path to peak fitness and performance this summer.
My assumption is that she is getting a rest after nationals. When she ran at BU two weeks after xc nationals, she said she was feeling a bit worn down.
is the ESPN app correct with times for ACCNX coverage of this event? If so thats incredibly disappointing with no coverage before 7:30 on thursday and friday.

Looks like a good start for the UVA mean. All 4 of their entries in the fast 1500 heat run a sub-4 equivalent with Conor Murphy pacing the way with a 3:39.75. Gary Martin 2nd in 3:40.08.
