I sold Horvat short when I didn’t pick her to medal. Also wrong in picking Hoffman to late kick for silver, but I suspect she had the 2nd fastest final lap and just sorta blew her chances tactically.
My children ran in the same small high school conference as Cooper Teare and I watched him jog around and win multiple conference races year after year. I get exactly the same feeling watching Jakob run Euros. It’s so nice of him to show up and entertain us all.
Just a bummer we didn’t see Kerr/Katir vs him in the 3k and perhaps Wightman, Garcia Romo and Heyward in the 1500. Some injury stuff as well as the others having much harder teams to make and prioritizing indoor glory less. But as a result he beat the B-listers. Last year outdoors Katir did contest the 5,000 but the 1500 was missing Wightman, Kerr and more.

Adel Mechaal is a runner with obscure history and was bright only at the Spanish level. Unfortunately if we except Jakob there few elite distance runners in Europe.

I had Horvat to medal, despite the continuously stressed look she wore the entire championships. She does have great and consistent running form. Keely almost jaded in her cruise through the entire event, it's good to see a topnotch competitor giving a full indoor season, like Jakob, Laura and Femke.
close finish in the 800 - Ben of Spain beats Robert of France. Both given the same time 1.47.33
Crestan will be DQd from third. That move was as dumb as anything I've seen on the track. He just charged at the back of Learmouth, there was no gap at all. He would have had to step on the infield to pass. Tuka will go up to third

Based on this winter’s performances, a fresh Katir in either race, but especially the 3000 would have been entertaining. I don’t think Kerr or Romo were ready to bother him much in the 1500. Yes, it would have been nice if they all showed up, regardless. I can’t overstate as a fan how much I appreciate that Jakob shows up and races. He was ill, he missed training. It would have been easy for him to bow out. Jakob is the biggest star, and he really made the indoor season for the fans. Hats off to him, but also Kudos to Keely, Bol, Nuguse and the others who helped us through the long winter!
