Lol …where is MRR? Charting S. Taye’s workouts maybe?
By the way…thanks and do the doubter only? I spike to Ronnie for 30 minutes yesterday. That’s where I got the upcoming race schedule. Do folks really think I make this up?
On the other issue with the NIL..no one is ever going to pay a College 1500 type anywhere near what Kessler got or will get in those 4 years. The return for the school is just not the same as it is for a shoe company, even that is hard to measure, I think.
Hey, I'm with you on most of this, and I'm all about VNTC (I'll forgive Morgan for going to state). However, I think you misunderstand NIL. It's not the school paying people, it's other companies. So for example, if Hobbs was 1 year younger, he could have taken the adidas deal (with any incentive structures for pro races reworked by a lawyer or whatever) and still been eligible to run at NAU or Michigan. Not that he would, just that NIL is a program that allows the Hunters and Kesslers (and Lyles) of the world to take that shoe/ad money while retaining eligibility.

But he would most likely be running the College schedule and framework

i said…most likely
Either way? Was not a real option two years ago
Yeah he would run college schedule and framework. The shoe company would likely not pay as much because he likely wouldn’t be able to fulfill all the obligations a pro athlete could/race in a pro kit. And wasn’t really an option until Tuohy’s deal. Also worth noting, it seems very likely that the official apparel provider of the college would be the only one interested in sponsoring. So they’re bidding against themselves. Anyhow this might’ve been an interesting debate if Hobbs was class of 2023, but I agree it was a no-brained in 2021.
Not sure if directed at me? Am loving how Kessler has looked this year. I think Atkin and Nuguse are the story of the race though, but another result that points to Hobbs PBing at the 1500/mile soon.

Fastest NCAA soph ever was Luis G with a 7:42, and the college record was formerly Yared’s 7:38 until Bosley ran 7:36 today
I’d say he’s doing well for himself
I would too, I thought..he maybe, maybe ,could run 7:40's low.. I think 7:45 was their realistic target...I think this is way way better than what I even expected, he is going quite well.
