"In 2023 and beyond, I’m beginning a partnership with a major brand that will be new to Ultra/Trail! I was presented with the dream opportunity, at a pivotal moment in my career and for the sport. Right now is the time for brands to get behind, support, and elevate women in a significant way"
Any speculation what company it might be?
I'm trying to figure out why I should give a F about Camille Herron's sponsor.
You really don't need to but that leads to wondering why you even looked at the thread let alone commented on it.

She is not a great brand ambassador. How long was she even with Hoka? She is too self-centered. Her posts which typically say ‘I did this or I was here’ are like fingernails on a chalkboard (old timers will know this saying). Also her constant complaining about not lowering her 100mile world record due to a course measurement/layout error is actually kind of sad. Nice you have the time to run and race all over the world but still don’t care if she ran 100,000 miles but still waiting for her to win a marathon in every state. Deeds not words!
Interesting. Naked also has put out a trail running shoe recently. That would be quite a risk. They just have the 1 shoe out and it looks to be laceless, so fit could be an issue. Other shoes coming out?

According to the only review I've seen on the naked trail shoe, it's a super firm and minimal racer. That would be the worst option for someone like Camille.

Sounds like she'd be getting back to something like the Saucony Killkenny that she used to do so much of her running in.
Puma makes the most sense for Camille - she doesn’t really *need* a trail shoe for 90% of her races. Excellent ultrarunner, not good on actual trails. So it has to be a brand with a carbon plated shoe for her road efforts.
I’m imagining Tollefson to NNormal or Speedland with DBo.
She uses Naked's belts. Doubt she would run their shoes but who knows. I have reviewed it at RoadTrailRun.com and it is a superb short distance, quite firm but also flexible plated (a good thing) trail race shoe. Yes the laceless works super well. Very difficult very to pull on if you have high arches like me, easy if you are more flat footed.
The way she used the term "ultra/trail" made me think of the upcoming 2023 Ultrafly Trail. So, maybe Nike?
Nike is under-represented on the ultra and trail scene given how big they are everywhere else. I go to the trails a lot and see Hokas, Altras, etc. but rarely the Wildhorse and Terra Kiger.
It sounds like their new shoe will be a game changer and they would want her to put it on a podium right away. It is going to be sick (and I don't even work for Nike):

You seem unaware that just before joining Hoka two years ago, she was with Nike/Nike Trail for years running ultras and trails representing Nike. So, she definitely wouldn't call Nike new to trails/ultra. Also, how many people who have left or been dropped by Nike were ever sponsored by Nike again?

This
she needs a competitive carbon racer
more road oriented than trail
maybe naked is creating a new shoe?
skechers also has a new carbon shoe that looks like it will be great for ultras

Do the "journalists" on this site ever actually break any real news? How is it no one working for this rag was able to do some investigative journalism and break one of these "x is moving to..." stories? Some anonymous posters sometimes guess right and then claim they knew but I'm talking actual investigation. Follow the athletes, see who they meet, go through their trash for clues.
