Julian comes off as a complete unmentionable in the Engels workout I saw, which I haven't thought of any coach, not even Salazar when he was telling Mary or Yomif to go ahead and vomit so they'd feel better, from any other workout. At the same time, Engels had not run well for years due to distraction and lost motivation, so he was being shuffled out the back while Julian was focusing on the World and Olympic hopefuls. I genuinely hope he gets it all back and more with Van Hoy, the fun and the performances, because he can be good for the sport--and that bit of entertaining personality goes back to early days at Ole Miss before he was nationally known.
