I really couldn't care less about this coach, but I do know when he got hired and what day it is now, and how much progress can be expected.
So, with that said, let me say that your post makes you look really bad and doesn't do anything to make the coach look bad (which I think was your intention).
Prepare to get piled on by actual runners who know how foolish your post is.
I behalf of many "actual runners" and coaches...Well said and spot on!
What is there about Brosnan's interview that would lead anyone to believe that he is a "better recruiter"?
Both coaches seem to be equally intelligent and well-spoken to me.
I've talked to both of them on several occasions. Brosnan is a really good salesman with a upbeat attitude. Powell comes across as just an average guy.
As far as who can recruit better, I would bet on Brosnan.
Good thing for Powell that they’re running coaches and not used car salesmen. Brosnan is a great coach and I agree that his charm will go along way. But Powell’s proven track record in the NCAA goes a long way. If I’m a high school senior I’m choosing the regular guy all day.
At Pac12’s today his women took 8th (8th las year) and his men jumped all the way to 5th (6th last year)!
We all knew he was going to make a huge impact, but this was beyond expectations. Just like he said in his last interview, they are focused on November when they will shock people. We are witnessing greatness.
This is amazing!! He's there two weeks maybe a month, and he already improved the team 1 spot over last year. That's incredible! Imagine if he is there a couple years! OMG he is going to be killing it! Thanks for giving us the heads up on how wells he's doing. The future is bright! Don't take my word for it, look at your thread title!!!!!!!!!!!!
My daughter is considering committing to UCLA because of Brosnan as she grew up on L&L YouTube videos and is currently one of the top sophs in the country. We’ll see what happens in another 6 months but don’t underestimate the appeal.

How would this be considered a huge jump?
Not hating, but curious to know
Womens team stayed the same, mens team only improved by one.
So far Cal Poly is crushing it in their first year. A top in the nation type runner plus good depth. Washington has two solid national level high school runners. And UCLA has nothing on the men's side.

UCLA: No HS runners unless you count Hebert.
Is Hebert official?
Herbert never committed to UCLA. The guy is crazy and made it up when BROSNAN got hired. I coach at a small DI and said congratulations to Brosnan about Hebert and he told me he didn't know who Hebert was and no one on the UCLA state had ever spoke to him. Herbert made his own post.
Brosnan wont even be able to outrecruit Vanhoy at Cal Poly
Can someone list the current commits for UCLA, Washington and Cal Poly? who’s performing beat at this point in the recruiting game?
I still haven't seen any mens commits. I see Tennessee announced their class, Cal Poly announced a bunch of signings and both of those coaches are new this year. Is UCLA just waiting to announce or do they truly have zero commits at this point?
