You’re absolutely right. We here all assume that the average person knows any runners names. Honestly they have no clue. They watch the Olympics every 4 yrs and May remember someone like Usain Bolt or Alison Felix who are heavily promoted. So yes I can bet 99% have no idea who Fisher is sorry to say. Or anyone else currently in the top 3 of any event

You’d think that would be true, but it’s not. Most would be shocked if able to see the individual contracts. That said, I’d encourage you not to lecture others on any subject that you have little experience or know little about. Just because we wish something to be true does not make it so.

After his 2022 season setting multiple US records and almost winning medals at World Championships 5,000m and 10,000m, placing in top three at three different Diamond League races and now in 2023 coming back from injury, placing 3rd at two Diamond League races and bettering his own US 3,000m record (legendary), Nike had better be paying him more than any US distance runner has ever been paid.
If not, Fisher needs to look elsewhere.
Going into an Olympic year, and looking to the future, Fisher is the only male distance runner that has been able to mix it up with the East Africans for the past few years. He has beaten everyone of the top guys except for Ingebrigtsen.
