Weather looks absolutely perfect. And if it was raining earlier even better as the air will just be supercharged

Heather Maclean is now in the 1500. She was in the 800 a few days ago. She ran a 1500 PB in Poland so I guess they decided to get the momentum going.

Lagat at his best around 2003-4 might have run very close to what El G ran, 7:23. Even later when he toasted Bekele with a 51.9 close to a 12:59, he could surely have run mid 7:20s. I think Grant Fisher has everything he needs physically to break 7:29. The question is whether he will have the mindset in a field with top East African athletes to get on that pace. If Aregawi's in the field, that should help a lot. A setup time trial in cooler weather might be more conducive for Grant Fisher to break the record. He should also go for Lagat's 5000m record before he's done this year. His indoor record is only 0.13 from it.
Sydney should have run this race.
Rants from the brojos incoming on the podcast with Sydney traveling to the meet but not racing. She could have woken up hungover 5 minutes before the gun and still won this one comfortably
Power move. Apparently she ran the meet in Hungary to scout for Budapest 23.
What a shame that Sydney is such a wimp about running in high quality meets outside of championships.
Blowing off Monaco Diamond League to run in some random minor meet in Hungary? That's not good for increasing viewership of the sport.
Not really random or minor. Yes, Monaco is bigger and I’d prefer her to run it but the Hungary meet had big-time stars, and is one of the best Continental Tour Gold meets out there.
She didn't even go to the stadium where next year's world championships are being held. The meet she ran at was an hour away.
What's with the hat on Dendy?
This is a LOT of guys on the line for a 1000. Hope there are no casualties on the first turn.
curious to see how Kessler does, surprised he got in
Maybe Hoppel and Clayton can rescue their sub-par seasons with a win.
Yes maybe she visited it on the trip and got a payday/race as well. That was my interpretation at least.
Was Emmanuel Korir in his own lane at the start or did he not realize he could cut in?
Wightman wins 2.13.87
Arop gutting it out
Wightman easily, Murphy back in 3rd.
