I measured my track on Google Earth - 399.5 m
I'd say that's pretty accurate. The error probably occured because of trying to measure a curve with a finite number of straight lines.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, the downhill time trial is little more than a few hours away.
Actually we're pacific time, so its about 5 hours away. But anyways, I have a quick question for the letsrun community:
I have been staying up until around 2-3am the past few nights in order to stay accustomed to the time. But, I DO get very tired after 1:30 or so. So I've been debating if I should take like a 1-3 hour nap and wake up at around 12:30, or just stay up the whole time. What does everybody think?
Dude, go for the nap. I used to wake up at 2 or 3am for a 3rd run each day when I was in college and I always felt great. I can't promise it will work for you, but it certainly worked for me!

i am surprised by the lack of bashing. Do we honestly believe that he ran 4:04 by himself this early.
YES!
How much does the Millennium Mile increase your performance?
Trust me, this guy is legit. The 4:04 1600 is legit. I know most stuff on letsrun is crap, but this isn't.
i wonder if he did it...
go bears.
3:46!!!
Nice job! When's the video coming?
3:46.3 - If I remember right, he split 58 and 1:54 en route. Can't remember the 1200 split. Simply a fantastic run.
i was riding my bike along side while timing. it was simply an incredible run.
3:46. Very fast.
Very impressive. Even if the course turned out short, it would have to be way off for this not to be worth a sub-4. The time sounds about right - I know some guys who weren't nearly as fast wanted to run sub-5, found a similar downhill stretch (it might have been even more severe of a decline) and lopped about 30 secs. off their flat PRs.
Good thing you're out west and not here in New England, where the nighttime temps are in the 20s - your friend would have a rough time running his naked mile, although he wouldn't have to worry about "flapping" since the Costanza "shrinkage" would definitely occur.
now that it's done you might as well tell us who the heck you be.
ja zei
Who are you? Where and when did you run 4:04?
congrats!!
Video for proof?
Apparently you missed the memo that this is just for fun, it's not as if he's going to go around flaunting his time and claiming to be faster than Alan Webb. Besides, he's apparently an excellent runner in his own right and probably will have a track sub four to go along with this performance in the future.
Way to go though, that had to be a freaking amazing experience blazing down a hill that fast at night with a bunch of people cheering you on.
