partner and I have about 7500 take home and 1700 on the mortgage (with escrow on taxes, insurance and all that), maybe call it 2k or 2100 for the rest of the "keep the house running bills" (electricity, heat, internet, trash, water).
~27% give or take. But we have some once a year income from investments/rent that kicks that take home to an average of 10k a month
What line of work are you in, swaglord? I ask because that’s similar to my salary although I max out a Roth 401k and my paychecks fluctuate due to overtime. I can count on 6k/ month and my house in the city has a mortgage/tax/insurance payment of $2350/month. So I guess about 40% which is probably on the expensive side but I love where I live and can easily make ends meet, travel a few times a year and have some fun on the remaining $$$.
Yeah 170k and living at home lol. I was in the city before, but moved back because of covid. Have done a few trips, like last summer went to Europe. But I should move out soon... just don't know where is worth going. $2-3k+ for an appt in the city seems like a total waste.

Just a good ol’ 9-5 office job. I only contribute to get the match for 401k not max, and max out HSA, but that’s it. Over the limit for IRA I believe.
Rents are ridic in the city but worth it if you like that lifestyle. I think a 1bd is gonna be 3-3.5k.
You want to know others personal info without disclosing your own first? You only get one chance to make a good first impression. And you madam have failed miserably.
Dumb people start dumb threads. Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid Is As Stupid Does."
The only failed post is yours. Ironic. 10,000, 3500.
These responses are laughable. Either people don't know what take-home vs gross pay is or everyone on this board is in the 1%.
I'm an in-house attorney. Take-home pay is about $10k/month (my yearly salary is $220k, but yeah, taxes, health insurance, etc etc). Mortgage/insurance is $2150/month
