The Ducks have history in this event! From Bowerman's teams in the 60s to the overlap of senior Rupp and frosh Centro in '09 who broke the record at Historic Hayward. You can't (or shouldn't) be mad at them wanting to take a crack in new Hayward in front of their fans, c'mon!
Why is Winsmer even involved in this? The guy has no impressive PRs, botched their AR mile attempt, and seems to only be there because he's forced his way into the Next Gen Track group. It honestly seems like he's a last resort play until they find a decent fourth guy to join their training group. There are several Nike runners available in Oregon to replace him and West if they wanted this to be a good Nike PR event and have it count as an actual AR/WR.
Less than ideal weather, because its April at Penn Relays:

Cooper and their YouTube channel crew can be very toolish. Run fast against other fast runners. Calling for competition acting like one isn’t set up a week later.
Time trial events nobody in the rest of the world actually races. (4xMile lololololol.) Call it a "world best" (through Galen never got one of those and never will).
Take the plaudit$ for being the "fastest" under this formula.
Imagine if NBA guard, PGA Tour golfer or any real pro athlete sat out tough games/comps, and then said to the fans "If you don't like it, you yourself should play better." Pathetic.
He'll NEVER sniff a runner like Jakob I, Timothy C, or Joshua C. At least he knows his place, running rinky-dink time trials against nobody.
I'm interested in the college record going down. These seem to be the toped rank teams in the 1500 Northern Arizona Georgetown Portland Virginia North Carolina Wake Forest Oklahoma State Colorado Iowa State Michigan
Cooper Teare strava: "Back to some racing/ pacing this weekend. 5k Friday, 4xmile Saturday. Y'all gotta get over this bad for the sport stuff and run fast yourself if you want to 'make it better'
Yeesh
Another passive aggressive retort on social media from an athlete in Oregon - must have taken notes from Shalane last week.
“Lord knows we need more fun in track and field, so I’m just trying to bring a little,” said Oregon associate head coach Ben Thomas, who continues to coach Hocker and Teare in their post-collegiate careers. “They’re in good shape and I think we can give it a run if there’s a good crowd out there and everything.”
Thomas also will assemble a couple teams of Ducks to chase the collegiate-best time of 16:03.24 set by Oregon’s Matthew Centrowitz, Andrew Wheating, Shadrack Biwott and Galen Rupp during the 2009 Oregon Twilight meet.
The record run that night came with fans down on the track to cheer on the runners. Thomas said they’ll try and replicate that same scene on Saturday as fans will be able to fill lanes 7-9.
