I was hoping to see a head-to-head matchup between Steiner & Battle as well but I highly doubt that Steiner is dodging competition. If you go to the FloTrack interview on page 3 of this thread Steiner specifically mentioned that she wants to work on her 100 because she hasn't run an outdoor 100 in something like 3 years. She is entered in the 100, 4 x 100, and 4 x 400. There are some speedsters in the 100. I don't think she's dodging anyone.
I just read on the T&FN Forums that Ohio State may not make it to the Florida Relays due to weather so there might not have been a Steiner vs Battle 200 matchup anyway. They'll meet at some point this year.
The weather doesn't surprise me. I had flights delayed through the Midwest from JFK for 5+ hours. There were winds up to 75 MPH in Ohio and through the Midwest yesterday.
Mboma
I didn't relaize that Mboma is running this weekend in Florida.
Try to keep up...
Anavia Battle looks like she dodged everyone and dropped out.
Why would she dodge Battle?
Battle didnt come close to Steiners times.
Battle is a 21.95 200m runner.
Battle is also an Olympian.
To Reddevil, the guy that has a really stalkerish obsession with Abby Steiner, Battle didn’t “drop out.” A lot of the Ohio State team couldn’t make it to the meet. There was some pretty bad weather around the country and in the Midwest last week.
Nobody is dodging anyone. Steiner and Battle will matchup this season and it will be a great race.
They are facing each other tomorrow at LSU in the 100 & 200. It should be good.

I'm obviously talking about Battle & Steiner.
As an aside, I have received a lifetime ban from these forums because I was supposedly "spaming" them. I've never spammed these forums in my life. I guess I'll need to post from a proxy server from now on as I am doing now!
Anybody know if they both plan on running?
At a meet like this, I would be tempted to run well within myself and maybe pull an Ali.
Muhammed, not Nia.
The season is long, and it's super-early. NO WAY I would go 100% in this basically meaningless race.

I mean it would be good to throw down a fast time to test your outdoor fitness so far coming off of indoor training. Get one good 200 under your belt and pull back till championship season. But thats just my thinking if i was a coach of these two athletes. Im sure alot of these athletes are looking to make it to worlds so we will see plus its in July this year so staying in form should be easier coming off of nationals and getting ready for trials
Steiner has one of the worse starts out here. Not sure where u got your start info from. Thats why she consistently pulls up the rear as a pro against A list sprinters. She has yet to beat any A list sprinters in 100m. And she is a long shot in the 200m olympic trials. She definately wouldn't qualify in the 100m so she isn't going to attempt it I'm sure.
It is now 2024 and now looking back steiner most likely was dodging, she currently 2024 of dodging meets with A list sprinters. She still hasn't raced any of them in a open meet. The only time she has is when it's not avoidable and it never ends well she has now come in last place or close to last at a number of meets, Steiner is good but definately not top tier, but she is on top at the 2nd tier level

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. I think Abby is really talented, but definitely functioned better in the structured college environment with lots of racing. I think she's struggling without structure and races, and, besides that, she's injured. She is also in no way, shape, or form a 100 meter runner (despite the great relay leg in 2022). She is a 200 meter runner all the way, and, if anything, could probably do the 400 as well.

Is Gabby Thomas an A list sprinter?
The fact that you'd bring up a 2 year old thread to make a point you think you're making but are not would make you a tool.
