The fact of the matter is, 1) USADA doesn’t care who you are, if you break the rules you are banned. That is a given. For how long, that is another issue.
2) RUSADA and the IOC are as corrupt as an iron dock sitting on the Dead Sea. They’ll fold to any outsider influence and we have seen that time and time again.
Valieva is a minor, and maybe she had no clue what was going on, but she shouldn’t be allowed to compete regardless. Sha’carri was an adult and knew full well what the rules and repercussions were. That is the difference.
Typical victim complex. Ironically she manifests racism by segregating black from white. It's 2022, this is the most privileged and the least racist society in the history of the world.
So, by saying "least racist," you are admitting that society in the United States is racist, no?
You're an idiot, Steve, if you don't believe that society in the US is racist. While it may be the "most privileged," those privileges do not necessarily apply to black people or other minorities.
While I don't believe that Richardson's banning from the Olympics had anyting to do with her being black, you're being disingenuous to suggest that black people are "privileged."
Once again, Steve, you don't fail to display your stupidity. That can't be a surprise to anyone that ever reads your drivel.
She needs to stop worrying about other people and just worry about herself.
Says the guy who comes on a messageboard to criticize a woman who does not know he exists. Lol. The irony!
We are commenting on a sort of but not quite public figure, that isn't worrying about her. That poster, and I doubt any of us, are basing what is fair in our life against what happened to her or some random Russian kid.
If she means with respect to whether she is allowed to compete, no. Team USA could have allowed Sha'Carri Richardson to compete in the Olympics (in the relay) but chose not to. In contrast, Kamila Valieva competes for a different country whose state-sponsored doping is so well known that the whole country has been banned from the Olympics because of it. I think it is self-explanatory that Team USA treats American athletes differently than ROC treats Russian athletes for a whole boatload of reasons that have nothing to do with race.
On the other hand, if she means with respect to her treatment by the media, I disagree that that's the *only* difference, but I agree with the notion that race has probably played an outsized role, though I think Kamila Valieva probably makes for a more sympathetic character because she is the age of a typical high school freshman and is very likely suffering horrible abuse from her coaches and government including but not limited to being given illegal drugs without her knowledge or consent, which obviously is a fundamentally different thing than an adult athlete choosing to take them.
LRC Note. We changed the title of the thread to make it factual and not emotional/racially charged. The title was initially "Sha'Carri Plays "The Race Card."
I support Sha'Carri's frustration, the situation appears arbitrary and capricious.
I'm sorry to say this but I have a feeling that Sha'Carri will end up wasting her exceptional talent, I think she has all the physical gifts to be the dominant heir to SAF and Elaine but she's not mentally mature or confident enough to ever do it. She is not the strong black female people are saying she is, all of this screams of immaturity and insecurity. I think its stupid to have weed on the banned list but when you know its banned and the Olympics is coming up, you only have yourself to blame. Its not racial oppression to ban someone for breaking the rules, it doesnt matter if the rules are stupid, its still the rules. She wanted special treatment and is now crying like a spoiled child who didn't get what they want and is essentially saying that her not getting special treatment is racial oppression.

No. One obvious difference is that the US authorities, while imperfect, are not as corrupt as the ROC. A second is that the Russian skater's team appealed to the CAS. I don't believe that Sha'Carri took that step; she just admitted guilt.
Was it an issue to her when Justin Gatlin, busted twice, once for amphetamines and second time for exogenous testosterone was allowed to compete for another 10 years despite a lifelong ban for two offenses? Was it an issue to her when Christian Coleman was allowed to compete in the 2019 world championships yet not taking 3 drug tests in one year and being let go on a technicality? Just curious on how she chooses and picks everything to suit ger agenda.
Good points. I'd add that she also got off way too easy with her ridiculo short ban, thanks to a stupid loophole and USADA's lenient interpretation.
Two horrible takes in a row.
Shacarri was probably like 7 when Gatlin was banned. and you are both mentioning two other people that faced penalties due to what they did to someone who has had nothing done to them despite breaking the rules. It is an issue now for her and a very relatable one.
two athletes broke rules. one banned the other unpunished and gets to compete. What is the difference between them.

I have always assumed some countries will dope athletes as children and teens and clean them up once they reach competition age. That way they still get life/training benefits/increased muscle mass/heart capacity/lifetime mileage etc.
I checked her IG a few days ago. I don't think she is even training. How long before Nike revokes her contract? She is posting a lot of black justice stuff and crazy outfits stuff. She is fast but she is no Usain.
How does that show whether she is training or not?

This is probably the tip of the iceberg.
You mean like how the old Eastern Bloc countries did during the Cold War?
