No idea what your gender or age is, but this sounds like a classic case of "You're just not the target demographic, nothing to take personal." Yeah the high schoolers do love it. .
I am over 30 and male. I talk to runners of all genders and ages and have literally never come across one person that likes the way Craig acts, including a couple of high school runners, but granted it is a limited amount of people that I have had a discussion with about him. And we can agree to disagree, but someone who acts the way he does, is definitely showing his insecurity. Needs constant attention and and literally acts like he's 13 or 14. I initially had mixed feelings about him and then I watched him at one of the meets before the trials last year where he ran an 800 and then jumped into the 5,000 as a workout. There were many people in the race that were going for PR's and taking the race seriously, even if they were only 14:40-14:50 5k types. But Craig had to make sure every single person in the stadium knew that he was just doing a workout and that this was very easy to him. Kept waving to people and laughing throughout the race. Yes Craig, we know, a runner of your level can run a 14:40 5k in his sleep, even after a hard 800. No need to make the guys racing their hearts out feel like crap about themselves.

This. I recall seeing the video of this being posted here. Engels really came off as an insecure jerk who was belittling the efforts of others. Totally unprofessional.
Hocker is barely active on social media at all

Emma Coburn
What? Just because she is attractive does not make her a "look at me" type.
I'd really have to give this one to Pappas even over someone like Quigley. She is the ultimate self-promoter who tries to stay relevant way past the time her star has fallen. I have never gotten why anyone finds her interesting. I get the Engels sentiment from some but to me, he's more just someone with a big personality who doesn't recognize when maybe it's best for his mouth not to say what he's thinking. I think our sport would be in a better place if we had a little more personality rather some like Rupp who has the charisma of Mr. Spock.
I used to find her content enjoyable but she has just become such a big sellout now. Everything is pushing ads for random crap she's promoting. And I get it, sponsorships are how you make money as an athlete but its become every post and story now and she's hardly struggling for money based on her olympic medals, championships medals, NB sponsorship, and her husband coaching like 10 pro athletes

This is funny, because while watching Milrose, I said to my wife "He better not beat Teare.... look how ridiculous his arm swing looks".
Tara Davis - I know she is mostly known for long jumping but she is a hurdler too.
She LOVES the camera and is always posing.

I don't understand all the Alexi Pappas hate on here. I know she was quite public back in the day but when was the last time there was even buzz about her racing at an elite level?
I think there's a difference between a 'look at me' (Engles, AthleteSpecial) and a talented if over the hill runner that has an audience; an Emma Abrahamson type that will never be competitive again but still does quite a lot for the community.
Idk, seems creepy to keep dragging Pappas in here over, say, the Halls or Gouchers

Engles act was fun at first but like a lot of things it gets lame when you over do it.
Molly Seidel now because she tries to hard to find dopey guys making dopey dad jokes to her as some toxic masculinity issue.
I actually like Molly but I do understand when someone needs to create a shtick it gets old real fast. Like Engles acting like a 17 year old seems weird as he ages.
Desiree Linden trying to act young is very strange at her age as well. It reminds me of the Cool Mom who is anything but cool and is mocked amongst the younger crowd meanwhile no one has told her.
Reading some of these names surprise me.
Comeonnnnnn. Easily Kara Goucher. She faked seeing a mountain lion when that was trending a few summers ago just to get a little press. Her BS knows no bounds.

She posts about her son so much that is kind of ridiculous.
It has to be any distance runner that gets much more attention from their social media postings than their actual race results.
I don't follow social media that closely, but right now I would put Quigley up there along with Spencer Brown, Seth DeMoor, Sage Canaday and a host of others.
Not saying that these people do not have running talent, do not train hard, and have not been successful runners.
It just seems like they spend more time making videos or posting things on social media about themselves than actually training and running.
More power to anyone who can figure out how to make money by talking about /promoting themselves.
I personally like runners that a more humble and modest, let their running and racing do the talking. The runners who achieve attention because their race results are enough to make other members of the media talk about them.
Paul Chelimo is not a look at me runner. He only recently has tried to start a youtube channel , but this was after he let his running do the talking by winning numerous US and global 5k medals.
Rupp is also a good example of someone who is not a look at me runner.
Emma Abrahamson is desperately trying to stay relevant.
I generally don't mind her as an author/ screenwriter but alexi papas' New York marathon was one of the most cringey selfish things I've ever seen
But demoor takes the cake easily.

this is the right answer. but she is fine AF so i really do not care at all
Are we only talking about distance runners here? Because I can't believe the thread has come this far without the obvious answer of Sha'carri Richardson
Hey OP you’re 5-10 years late on this whole social media and self promotion thing. This is basically a part of the job description as an elite or sub elite now. You can’t just collect a shoe contract salary and prize money and keep to yourself these days. You have to have an online presence or else your sponsors won’t care to carry you. This is a big part of why Ben true doesn’t have a sponsor.
New gen track and field YouTube channel is basically committed to Cole and cooper now.
