Hey man when you live in a van down the river you get used to feeling of being boxed in.

Craig Engles would have at least raced at the Olympics. He would have a least made the semi final. Nguese didn’t even make it to the start line. Pathetic!
engels will do better than most of you all are giving him credit for.

If what you are saying is true, why didn't C. Engles finish top three in U.S?
C. Engels is talking about himself the same way people here talk about C. Hocker. Like they are contenders for best in Amerika (Engels) and best in the world (Hocker).
What does an Aussie have anything to do with Craig Engels not being the best American miler?

I wouldn't call it an obsession, but rather disbelief that someone would take an Olympic spot then, get on a plane and fly to Tokyo, then not race because his foot hurts.
The last two Summer Olympics, U.S. men have had a gent finish last, 800m final. Boris Berian never recovered from finishing last. Nuguse did not, as you say want to fly to Olympics and finish D.F.L. I hope you are not implying that Nuguse should have given his spot to another runner who brags about drinking all the d@mn time.
at least he would have thrown back some sake and actually run around the track 4ish times
I like the Union Athletics Club label. The one they used before was about death, and that's a stupid way to promote track & field.

After these comments, I lost what little remaining respect I had for Engels. His is a d*** of the highest order.
They were shoulder to shoulder with 100m to go and Nuguse put 3-4 meters on Engels and was pulling away even more. Nuguse had better form, Engels was breaking down.
This is a very disrespectful thing to say about Nuguse. It's also a flat out lie. I think even Teare would have beat Engels in that 1500m final.
Agreed. His all talk and can't walk the walk is disrespectful to the runners who beat him when it mattered. What a clown. Put up or shut up.

Exactly. He claims to be the best miler in America and yet he’s obsessed with how he should have gotten…third place

Correct. Him saying he didn’t race well and feels he should have beaten one of the guys that finished in front of him is hardly sh*t talking.
And why are people so obsessed with Nuguse’e DNS at the Olympics. The guy was hurt and dropped out, Bad timing, but it happens.
+1
I don’t see anything disrespectful about what Engels said. He was the reigning national champ and had the fastest performance of the year going into the Trials. Hard to end up 4th and not feel like you should have done better in that scenario.

And if you’re competing for spots on US teams and don’t think you’re the best, or close to it, you’re already beaten.

He got his rear end kicked by 2 college children and a past prime centro.
Lol better at running the mouth than running the race.
I’m sure Engels is right that he could beat Nugusse right now. Nugusse is injured.
With C. Engels' m.b.a., it is time for C. Engels to enter financial advisor phase of life.

4:01 mile today for Engels. All talk, can't back it up.
Nike really blew it by giving this clown a 9 year contract.
Comon Craig. We want you to better. Don’t let us, you fans down.
Seems relevant now
Anyone else notice he stopped being relevant as an athlete the day AlSal got banned? Oh yea that's right he was never coached by Alberto he was coached by Julian from the day he joined NOP (like every other NOP claimed when Alberto got busted)
