I had the best run of the year, bar none. 9:20 pace average with the last three at 8:48, 8:35, 8:25, at an average HR of 154, or about 83%. At age 63, with a year of back troubles and only six weeks' worth of running, and no run faster than 10:05 pace until this week, that was a barn burner. It gives me hope for the future. Nothing hurt. Everything felt grooved. The serious training has yet to begin. No runs more than 9 miles; no true tempo runs; no intervals or fartlek; only one very tentative hill workout. I haven't run a race since May 2019. Haven't even been able to think about that. Today told me that it can happen;
