She doesn’t make money from modeling, she has a few product sponsorships which she promotes to her bot followers and some actual followers. Side note I find it curious that she is always injured but is paid to promote Hyper Ice and collagen proteins. Proof that neither product works?
She definitely has a lot of bot followers or her actual followers just don't like her. I did a very rough, non-scientific study comparing her IG like rate to other US female athletes. I looked at the last 5 IG posts that are at least 1 day old and averaged out the percentage of likes to followers per post.
Quigley
247k followers
approx. 29,176 total likes
2.36% like rate per post
Sydney McLaughlin
1M followers
approx. 2,060,445 total likes
41.21% like rate per post
Sha'Carri Richardson
2.3M followers
approx. 2,545,238 total likes
22.13% like rate per post
Her direct competitors:
Emma Coburn
504k followers
approx. 83,449 total likes
3.31% like rate per post
Grayson Murphy
68.7k followers
approx. 32,621 total likes
9.50% like rate per post
The findings above suggest that Quigley is not much of an "influencer". She is a great athlete, and will hopefully continue to be, that probably views whatever endorsement deals she picks up as a side hustle. Any semi-competent brand manager would do a more sophisticated version of the study I just did and draw the conclusion that either most of her followers are bots or not her actual target demographic.
Obviously, Richardson and McLaughlin have loyal and interested followers but what I found most interesting was comparing her with her steeplechase contemporaries. Coburn is a significantly more accomplished athlete and has a more engaged social following than Quigley but seeing Murphy, a less accomplished athlete, exceeding Quigley's total likes with less than 30% of total followers was a surprise to me.
