It seems amazing that people still take this cat that seriously, but maybe I shouldn't.
If you've lined up with them then for sure you know! I digress. A little false info though on Kendall, Gray still has the fastest ascent there so I wouldn't say Walmaley broke his climbing records. Walms and Gray too have raced I saw from Google. Seems Gray is more versatile as Gray won each of their battles in cross Country racing and one time in road racing. Strange they are both now trail guys. Would be cool to see if Gray would do Western or Hardrock!
Gray, Demoor and walmsley are all great. No need for anyone to tear any of them down. But this thread is about Demoor and he friggin went beast mode on that mountain. I admire he acknowledged that the competition wasn’t as steep and he was treating it like an fkt. Good on him.

The ranking goes like this:
1. Walmsley
2. Gray
3. A duck ton of other people
4. anybody else
5. Still not Seth demoor.
6. Okay fine Seth Demooron.
He needs to race Sierre-Zinal. That would show how he really compares on a global scale

Well then so do a host of other runners! Holy shirt LetsRun, you've outdone yourselves this time. Way to represent!
To whoever posted that socialblade thing, I bet that it isn’t including whatever YouTube channel memberships he has. You can support him from anywhere between $2 and $20 a month. I have no idea how to tell how many members there are but I wouldn’t be surprised if he had 500-1k and averaged 10k a month from that. Although I’m sure YouTube takes a decent cut.
He did mention he used to drive Uber and work two jobs so I believe a lot of this is relatively new from the YouTube channel memberships.
Gray>Walmsly
h2h Gray is up it looks like. Also, Walms has a ton of National champs in mountain, cross and track to catch up to Gray. Gray has also set many records for streaks with Team usa. We have yet to see Walms set any streak outside of Western. I got respect for Gray pushing with the East Africans in the sub ultra world too, he has definitely gotten beaten a ton by them but he has also won a few major ones so again, Walms has some years before he can compare resumes.
The big question - will SJD ever drive the kids to soccer practice?
Bingo! Seth makes far more money from YouTube than he ever would racing.
Walms excels at 50 mile and up races. Gray is more of a sub marathon mountain trail runner. If they ever race head to head one of them is stepping out of their preferred distance range.

While I think competitive ultrarunning is a joke (I still do two events/year for fun and the LOLZ), I do respect Walmsley. Demoor is in a way way lower tier than Walmsley.
The problem is there's just TOO LITTLE MEAT ON THE BONE. Not enough real competition at most of these ultra events so they are dominated by a handful of people. Events are not comparable to one another, even year to year there can be enormous swings depending on weather, trail conditions, route changes etc. Too many events spread over too few runners, and there really isn't a true premier event where all the pros go up against each other.
Sometimes I think pro ultrarunners purposely avoid racing in events where there are other pros lol.
A good guy wins a competitive race. As for the haters, he is very aware that the competition chasing the big money is not competing at Pikes Peak. I bet he glides up hills at his weight.
What's your point? If SJD wants to be compared to the best over the shorter distance then he needs to get out of his backyard and do the race which attracts the best runners from around the world. That is Seirre-Zinal

It is fair, but in Seth's defense in terms of racing quality PPM is part of the Golden Series now and therefore should attract much stronger competition. Not quite SZ but should be much closer
Covid has just kind of thrown it all out the window.
In 2022 there could be a strong field. Hope everyone is in good shape to have a proper race !
And a life jacket
"...Pikes Peak part of the Golden Trail Series NOW"!? It's been part of the Golden Trail Series for the last 4 years! COVID has hurt the international representation the last 2 years due to travel restrictions. Seth would get destroyed at Sierre-Zinal. It's not high enough altitude for him and the Euros would all blow by him on the downhills. His ascent at Pikes was great, but to compare it to Joe's time from the day before is invalid because Joe was fighting a ton of wind and freezing cold weather with ice on the rocks etc. Weather conditions are everything on the mountain and greatly influence times. Also, Seth has barely run any ultras. He certainly is not an elite or experienced ultra-marathoner.
