Too bad Castor Semenya is not in the mix. If not for the ban, she may have broken the WR by now. Right before that she was at 1:54 level

Don't worry. Someone with an equivalent amount of testosterone will do it without being intersex.

You don't know what you're talking about. ALL professional athletes are tested for their testosterone level as part of their regular drug testing.
If Athing Mu had high testosterone, she would have already been banned from running the 400 to 1 mile distances.
True— that and the fact that she’s quite obviously female. Only someone with very, very strange ideas about gender would consider her otherwise.

Umm yeah, Friday is women’s distance night. Announced along time ago. It’s included with the ticket.
What are the odds they will allow fans?

Sorry to enlighten you, but the only grounds for suspicion about Lance for years was his performances - as is the case with most dopers. No one had answers to the kinds of questions above or we would have known for a fact he was doping. It took over a decade to present a provable case against him. If Mu dopes the last thing we would expect to find out is the answers to those sorts of questions posed above. But off-the-charts improvements in performances can start to raise flags - as they would with any athlete. From 2.01 to 1.53 in a year would be such a flag.
i find armstronglivs annoying af and still think he's on the mark here. just don't engage with him rather than pose silly questions trying to 'catch' him.
mu miiiight get the wr but not this season.
"Catch" him??
He conveniently left out "provable case" vs corruption.
1. LA tested positive for cortisone during 99 tour but was "allowed" to provide a post dated prescription for a TUE because, corrupt UCI
2. Lance was popped in 01 Tour de Swiss, but the UCI ignored it following a very generous"donation" from LA.
3. LA directly answered the question of doping to his own doctors in front of his friends, Bart, Frankie & Betsy in 1998, listing EPO, HGH blood doping, cortisone, and testosterone among others that he had taken on the 90s before his cancer treatments began
LA didn't exactly hide his doping as well as he could have....He was arrogant enough to believe that he could convince anybody, anytime of whatever he wanted them to believe.
He still has a grip on people like armstronglivs.
....Some people are just Betas that way. They just like being submissive to alphas

The fact that you used the terms 'betas' and 'alphas' alone made this post suspicious. It turns out that Lance did not test positive at the Tour de Suisse in 2001 and did not bribe the UCI. He absolutely did give the UCI $125,000 for anti-doping efforts, but he did not test positive. The five doping controls returned two "highly suspicious results" but actually only one of the lab results was in the highly suspicious range, 75%, the other being below "highly suspicious" at 70%. So, his EPO levels weren't high enough to get a positive test.
https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/two-armstrong-doping-controls-at-2001-tour-de-suisse-suspicious-but-not-positive-uci-says/The key to any record attempt will be the pacing. Athing Mu proved she could pace herself to a 1:55. Maybe if conditions are perfect on Friday night in Eugene she can pace herself to a 1:54. Drafting in the women's 800m (and up) tends to be low quality. No one seems capable of making it to 500 or 600 at the right pace. It also depends on her having enough competition to push her, which I don't think can happen at that level. 1:53.28 is not out of the question but I don't see it this year without illegal male pacers.
I definitely don't think 1:53 is out of the question for Mu. Also all this doping speculation is ridiculous. Was Kratch running 1:55 at 19? Didn't Mu break the indoor 600 WR at like 17? She's been world class. I just Athing's talent is off the charts. So is Keely's. It's a new era and generational shift in power. These young ladies like Sydney, Athing and Keely aren't held back by what they think is impossible or a drugged record. They aren't jaded. They just see a number to beat and they are just going for it with all their heart. Call me naive but I just think it boils down to that. If the WR goes I will not be shocked in the slightest. However, I think it's more likely Mu goes a shade under 1:54 this time. Like 1:53.76 or something. Keely can definitely go 1:54 mid all out.
And you - and the rest of Letsrun - knew all this before he was finally compelled to admit his doping years later? I guess not. Most of Lance's fans refused to believe he could be doping - because for years there was no conclusive evidence. Just like they routinely do here with their favorite runners.
It takes a remarkable kind of stupidity to think you have the answers to the questions posed above before you have the answers. Add to that the naive view that an athlete isnt doping if you don't have the answers to those questions. But one thing you do know for sure about is being a Beta.

Or something else equally illegal.

So it is impossible that the top athletes will be doping? Flojo might have something to say about that - if she were still alive.
It amuses me that a prevalent view here is that only the talentless nobodies will dope - or that amongst highly talented athletes the clean performers will outstrip the dopers. I guess doping doesn't really help after all.

Can we PLEASE ban this poster? Literally all they do is accuse runners of doping.
Of course, anyone in our sport could be doping. But look at the form of the particular runner you are accusing. Very few in the history of the world with her body type and fluid form.
Absolutely baseless claims are getting really annoying, and frankly hurt the progress of the sport.

There's a reason for the 1st Amendment and slander laws. If someone says something false, sue them. But if it's a case where you disagree/dislike what someone has to say, then you should start a book burning club. You and your club members could wear fancy black uniforms with a red and white arm band with an angry looking spider in the middle.
Cancel culture is a step backwards, not forwards.
It's just like books, if you don't like a poster, just don't read their posts.
No need to get your panties in a bunch.

Good call. W U20 record is 1:54.01 by Pamela Jelimo from 8/29/2008.
Lord help ya! For the record, I don’t think she drops the wr this season. To say a clean (assumed) Mu has no chance to better Jarmila is... stupid. It's clear you've painted yourself into a corner and can only trot out the same nonsensical argument. Time will tell regarding the women's 800m wr. But you've already proved yourself a jackass ;)
i dont think she will improve this year, she already gave her best at the Olympics final and there aren't a lot of "best" you can do in one year
But his posts get in the way of the conversation. That is the problem. If you read every post in a thread in order to follow train of thought, it is hard to skip his. It would be nice if they banned him until he stopped with the constant accusations. He should start a thread regarding suspected dopers so that we can choose to ignore it if we choose.
The field in the Pre Classic will likely produce a WR.
But not this year.
The most common phrase spoken in post event interviews across all sports at the Olympics (other than the required and stupid NBC question of, What was going through your mind?) was "It's been a long and hard year." It was an absolutely universal comment / assessment / feeling. These athletes are human and they are fried - physically and mentally.
That group of women will very likely take down the WR. But not a couple weeks after the series of races they have been singularly focused on for the better part of five years.
Mu will go 1:54 solo. A pacer will take her through 4 but they'll already be two strides ahead and she'll be left alone. Not that I don't believe she could do it on her own, but it's easier to race hard when you actually have to race.
