Actually I might switch between El Guerrouj and Kipchoge.
i can't place anybody above Bekele and Geb. I will give Eliud 3. His track accomplishments are more than most people realize, i Think.
Don't put women on lists with men. It is not the same thing. There is not the same depth. I love Hassan. but just no.
however, if we want to pretend to live in a world where women have the same kind of depth as the men, Hassan can be overall goat if she keeps this up through Paris.
I agree. Over all distances, it has to be Bekele - Geb.
Over a single distance though, it is definitely Kipchoge.

He is definitively the greatest over a single long-distance event.
* by over a minute both times - this is proportionately equivalent to winning the 5k by 5-6 seconds. In consecutive OGs, five (not 4) years apart.
** 4-1 versus Wilson Kipsang, and 3-1 versus Kitata

There is a good argument to be had for this. El G was as good over 1500 compared with Kipchoge in the marathon.
And then he has the 5000 as well.
You guys keep moving the goalposts. There are threads here from the five years of multiple posters saying he'd have to defend the title if he wants to be the GOAT. He did, and he is.
