All this patriotic dick waving is ridiculous and as it goes on the posts get more silly and outlandish. One of the great benefits of being born in a small country that will never be the greatest at anything is that I have never been dragged into this kinda petty mudslinging. It's so childish.
Have not posted on here for years, came here to say congrats to Mu, a real pleasure to watch her - there was just no way anyone could have beaten her.
Congrats also to Hodgkinson (who raced to win and got her best possible result) and also Rogers (who sat back the first lap and gave herself the best possible chance to pick up a medal in the trail of destruction left by Mu).
It was tough watching Reekie fade in the final 50m - she could probably have got the bronze had she gone for tactics similar to Rogers, but fair play to her for trying to get the gold. Her time will come.
Congrats also to Bell - so impressive to be a reserve for the Olympics and then go sub 1.58 in the final. So pleased that she made it thru (as fastest loser in the heats and then also fastest loser in the semis).

In a country which literally destroyed its own native original population and continues to do so?
Native American Indians actually produce a far higher proportion of talented athletes and runners than their population size would indicate. I have no idea why the US doesn't treasure one of the few authentic cultures and native races it still has.
You mean the original Europeans that came here and decimated the Natives? That’s true. Not like all of the Native American tribes welcomed the Europeans with open arms.
Now, they get their own designated land, they can operate casinos, and get huge tax breaks. That seems pretty treasured to me.
Are you American? And you even know the history or current affairs of your own country?
I dudnt actually realise how poor the American education system was. Suspected it, but a constantly unpleasantly surprised.
As for keely's swearing on TV, why does this shock Americans so much? It is invariably Americans who are quick to insult anyone online who disagrees with them in ways which would be considered much worse than swearing live on TV in the heat of an emotional moment.

Funny then that the Americans were civil until the Brits went out of their way to insultingly and erroneously call our team non-native dopers.
a lot of salty brits in this thread lmbo.

Does Raevyn not smile enough for you?
There was one idiotic comment which a lot of people disagreed with.

I am confused about what your gripe is here. Please choose 1 of the below:
1) You are upset that Hodgkinson won a silver medal and are using this thread as a valve through which to relieve your frustration.
2) You are a far right nationalist with strong nativist tendencies who doesn't believe that immigrants are valid citizens. Yes, even second generation.
3) You have a general dislike for America and are using this thread as a proxy to argue things that you likely argue about whenever you get the opportunity.
By the way... none of these is a particularly good look.
And congrats to the British women for fierce, well-run races. All these young people will be great and great to watch for years to come.

At least we don't have stupid s#!t like a token Queen and defenseless cops.
Now, now. Go easy on poor old Covette, he is having a bad day. Although a Brit finished second she is in fact from Wigan and so therefore a 'Northerner' and not a true WASP. To quote Wehner, ' “Northerners” are working-class people, not well educated, and their lives are full of struggle and conflict. According to many preconceptions a male Northerner is unhealthy, badly dressed and frank about sex. Further cliché attributes are pragmatic, direct and even rude, but also down-to-earth, passionate and heartily. Northerners feel alienated from the government in the “centre” London and distinguish between “us” and “them” which creates to a strong sense of community.'
We are all familiar with Covette's opinion of people born south of the English Channel but it is likely he also has reservations about people born north of the Watford Gap.
It's my favourite race so far of the Olympics. Mu was unbeatable!

Amazing run by all three medalists.
Not sure why the skinny nerds on here need to make it uk vs USA all the time. Serious chip on shoulder.
I too use Sling after seeing another poster suggest it for $10 for first month. Select the blue package to get NBC channels including NBCSN, USA, and NBC but only if you use a zip code for payment method that is near one of the NBC corporate owned stations. There is a list of cities and stations on the Sling website. I had to use a virtual credit card number from Privacy dot com to obtain a Chicago area zip code. Privacy dot com allows one to use any address and zip code for payment transactions. I also have to use a VPN with Chicago server to watch NBC live but can setup recording on PC VPN connection to Chicago server and then watch recording from my non-Chicago IP address from the Sling app on my Roku. If you have a VPN you can watch live feeds from CBC dot ca, BBC, or my favorite, Japan which has uninterrupted coverage of races but no commentary--only the stadium announcer who is impossible for me to understand most of the time so at times I played Japan live stream on my Chromebook and NBC feed on my PC.
I am splitting my reply as full reply blocked due to claim of spam links but no URLs are in my reply:
NBColympics website has everything that NBC Sports app has. It is easier for me to navigate the replay streams on NBColympics websites so I use it most of the time. Everything is free without login via replay on both with no TV provider credentials required for logging in but credentials are required unless the live streaming is on Peacock. So I use Sling credentials when needed. Don't pay for premium Peacock service as it will provide nothing extra for track and field. I did notice that NBColympics had all the "Key Moments' links set to upcoming this morning after the events finished until later in the morning. I think I was at the website after the session had completed so I am not sure how soon after a session is completed that the Key Moments links are available for jumping straight to an event without scrolling manually through the entire feed.
I think that live streaming on NBC Sports and an NBColympics website requires access to the same channel on the TV provider where the live session is broadcast. I did not select the news package on Sling that adds CNBC and a few other channels so I doubt I could watch a session that is exclusively only on CNBC channel at NBC Sport or NBColympics live. Some posters were planning to use a 7 day free trial from Fubo TV or Youtube TV but I am not sure whether or not these provide all the NBC stations required to view all the sessions live either on their service or NBC Sport app and NBColympics website.
I just noticed that while Sling allows me to jump forward 30 seconds or so at a time through commercials that it appears that either Sling or Roku is inserting additional commercials. I recorded a CNN show last night and watched it today. Each time I fast forwarded through CNN's commercials it would think insert about 6 to 12 ads that I could not fast forward through. Even though several minutes of commercials played the timestamp stayed the same--17:25. Most of the commercials were for Internet websites and not the normal CNN commercial. So I would guess that these are commercials that were not part of the live CNN show and are being inserted only on playback. I am not sure what the point is of allowing one to fast forward through network commercials to only then insert a different set of commercials. I even suspect that if I allow the network commercials to play then I likely will not see the inserted commercials.

Sarcasm. I laugh at you my friend. Just pointing out the US WHITE RACISTS obsession with being US BORN on Letsrun.
In my view , a great race and a phenomenal win and athlete. Your cuntry is a disgrace though.

Yes and yes. Not sure which part of my post you think is incorrect? I was responding to your uneducated criticism of the US.
The swearing on TV is amusing but not shocking, and it seems you are quick with the insults. I don’t see a single insult in my post.
I’ve been to London a few times on business and it was delightful.
It was a great race and unfortunate that I didn’t get to watch it live. /Thread for me.
NBC has been a total disgrace. If you can actually watch the track, where are the track experts? Where is Ato Bolden? Where is Kara Goucher? At least there is Tim Hutchings sometimes. But the real issue is that you cannot watch anything at night. I have been able to watch parts of the morning stream with no problems, but at night everything is locked up and that moronic tokyo today show is worthless. I actually signed up for the peacock stream, which is free but worthless. Why would I want to see a look-in on the non-sport of Handball when track is on? And they have somehow cleared every feed or recording from the internet until at least the following day so everything is spoiled.
