Ches as a freshman was older than Teare is as a senior. But Teare is still breaking all of Ches' records. Also there hasn't been an NCAA championship in 15 months due to some worldwide pandemic that you might have heard of.
Ches had a lot less competition, too. Current guys like McDonald, Klecker, Hoare, Kerr, Fisher are legit Olympic talents. Technically Ches raced them too but he was 26 and they were 19.
Ches was 19 and turned 20 as a freshman. You're saying that Teare is only 20 as a senior? Did he skip a grade? I thought I was young as a 21 year old senior turning 22 a couple months later.
And the only championships Teare missed out on was last indoor and outdoor season, which he would have gotten dusted by a guy named Ollie Hoare. The guy that just ran 3:32 for 1500, which is faster than 3:50 full mile.
Teare has shown to be very good this season (more just a one month window of tiem), but didn't have a great entire college career like Ches did. And Ches had to race Lalang who was a 13:0X guy while in college, and had to race Tiernan who is a world top 10 capable guy in the 10k. And raced Knight who is also a world top 10 guy, and Jenkins who I believe ran 13:07 the summer he graduated. Acting like Ches was the only fast runner during his time in the NCAA is a joke. He was also dusting Marc Scott while in college, the same Marc Scott that just won the 10,000 we're all talking about. Ches was extremely good in college, looked to be the future. Ches in college had way more upside than Teare in my opinion.
