Neither of those add up. I have no idea of the credibility of the timing used here, but certainly they didn't run 100y.
Remember the Noah Lyles race? 185 meters? They all thought he was at the 200m mark so, yeah, there's reason to be suspicious of these mickey mouse meets.
Exactly what I was thinking!
Either wrong marking or perhaps he was wearing a prototype Nike spike that is on a par with their flats!?
But Baker ran 10.23 so unlikely it’s short

Ahhh, yesss... it was only a matter of time before the TDS infected inject Trump into a sprint thread.
He did 42+ steps, well below average I think. Was it really 100m?
so we're willing to accept all these distance athletes running incredible PR's in lockdown but not a sprinter?
the dude is quick.

OK 42+ seems to be normal.
Guys, just Google Earth the Track Start/Finish that they ran in the video.
100m.

What? He's 6'3-6'4"-ish.
42 steps doesn't surprise me at all.

100m.
I did Google Earth it and depending on the zoom level, he ran anywhere from 1/16 of an inch to 15 inches in 9.86 seconds. That doesn't seem very fast.

Did you count correctly? It is not normal. It is close to Dolt, and a bit better than Lemaitre, who has a huge stride.
46-47 used to be normal, some super fast runs have been done in around 45, maybe 44+. I did a thread on it a long time ago, IIRC.
42. would be anomalous.
Let’s see him do it again.
Benjamin’s time is also not immediately believable, sorry. It doesn’t matter how Baker ran.
An old 100m stride thread:
Doing it "again" is irrelevant, Sprintgeezer. Run your PR again. Have WvN run 43.03 again. Have MJ run 19.32 again. Thanks for playing, hater.
Another thread with strides discussed:

Almost ZERO chance that he did 42.x strides—and if he did, the wind was huge.
If it is all legit, then he is 9.6-low soon.
Are you sure you counted correctly? I will look at it later
How long until he joins Coleman and Gatlin in the hall of shame?

It is close to Dolt,
Is this short for Vladislav Dologodin? Or who are you talking about?
9.86 with that wind is a believable result.
A 19.7 100/200 specialist would run a 100 in ~9.85 with no wind. Considering Norman is a 200/400 guy, probably 9.95 no wind. +1.5 wind takes off about a tenth of a second of an elite sprinter's time, which would put Norman at 9.85. He ran 9.86.
If you watch his 200m against Lyles he runs his first 100m on the curve in about 43.5 steps. It's perfectly consistent with this 100m, and the turn is harder. He's just a beast.
Seems like he's gearing his training more towards the 100 and 200 this year which is smart because training for the 400m puts tremendous stress on your body.

There is a good method to check if it's correct: you have to count. But since you are not able to write a 4 letter name correctly, counting to 42 might also beyond your skills?
I actually remember that bend. Was any split taken?
