runningdogg....
...if u ask , but don't like then don't be PO'd at the person....u asked and listened and then blamed skuj for taking his advice....
..u only have yourself to blame...no one else for listening to him....
..whether he gave good or bad advice is irrelevant...the fact that you took that advice and then blamed him for your problem/mistake is....

But let's not forget that Running Dog does 3:40ish 1200s in training, and then "raced" 19:42. Something stinks, and it ain't me! :)
Sorry about yer woes, Denton. Did you peak too early this year? (ie Stellar Sun Run!)
Today I did 20min jog + a few short strides + 15:15 moderate tempo, 5x around a somewhat hilly chiptrail / gras loop, + 4 slightly inclined 16-17sec runs + 10min jog. It' still quite warm here in Edmonton. And the air is hard for me to get used to. Good session though.
...nope.....just screwed up mentally...well sorta.....tried too hard..relaxed too little....
Nonexistent.
I ate too much kimchi cabbage, daikon, and fried squid yesterday. And now I have the squirts like you wouldn't believe.
2 miles, lots of Chinese food and wine last PM.
warm up/ cool down. 1m road race. 6th place in elite field. didn't feel good at 1000m but closed ok in the final 250-300. first road mile-or any mile- in over 3 yrs. felt good to get into that type of action again. there seem to more of these races springy up in my area, so will hopefully be doing more.

Todays runs,
First I felt the urge, the rumbling that tells me, "it's almost time". Then it grows, until an all-consuming flame says "Just do it". So off I go, full speed sprint, wondering "will I make it? will I make the grade?". Then suddenly, not even close to the bathroom yet, Taco Bell kicks in...and I crap myself before I'm halfway down the hallway.
I lost todays race, but white bread, cheese, and Hot Pockets promise I'll have a better chance at making it tommorow.

......if someone told you to jump off a bridge......
...you have choices to listen or not...you decided to listen....your mistake....maybe bad ideas from skuj, but he didn't make you do it.....you did it.....when you learn to take responsibility for your own running (in every sense of the word), that is when you will truly succeed....
12.8 mile run in 1:16 - started out slowly and progressed to a sustainable 5:40 pace by the end. no races coming up any time soon so its nice to hammer and not worry about the consequences... until tomorrow's run that is :-p.
9 1/2 this morning, nice and easy recovery after 10k on Saturday. 6 1/2 on golf course loops. Good run!
45 min easy in the morrning focusing on knee drive and collapsing the calf.
This afternoon: old high school team practice. Probably some strength, strides, drills and a fartlek type thing.
....skuj is responsible for nothing except giving out advice....whether good or bad is irrelevant....u r singularly repsonible for taking it......
Had a short but pleasant run on Sunday. Still working back into things after the short break. Not sure how far as the GPS was in and out. Nothing today as I had a road trip to make. Tomorrow I have the dentist during my usual running time. Hopefully I can work something in later in the day.

A word of advice to the rest of you. Don't solicit -- or at least don't take seriously -- any training or racing advice from anonymous posters on letsrun. Chances are that the person advising you here is not too knowledgeable about such things. If you take their advice to heart, you'll be a moron like me.
Gotta agree with you here, And You Ran 19:42 For 5Km? (that's quite a handle!). Your profound words should help calm the waters, I would think. Thanks!
Though the heart may be in the right place, posters on the internet are not qualified to offer advice about your specific situation. Believe in what your coach is telling you and you'll be fine. Good luck!
Message to Knowerer, Knowerer!, Challenge!, yobananaboy, and Use to be Knowerer!: stop trying to derail this thread. It is obvious that you are the same person (4 posts within 27 min, another 2 within 15 min.) and it's also evident who you really are. If you intend to post trash talk about others, at least be man enough to use your usual handle. Otherwise I strongly suggest you stick to the theme of the thread. This is your only warning.
Almost forgot...
Easy long run today. 90 minutes and about 20 km. Nothing else. Sweet.
..wow i've been misquoted.....u kinda left out the rest....in that respects i have no backup for you....
....you are the to be blamed for whatever happens to you....no one else....
