Completely flat.

Completely flat.
Dead flat. And Tola only has 14 seconds on the chasers.
Tola looking back, not a good sign for him.
Bensen kipruto might chase him down.
Not gonna lie this doesn’t feel like enough of a lead for tools. Gonna have people working together to catch him. Could hang on for a medal but I doubt gold unless he hangs tough as nails
Looks like Cairess may have overcooked it but, COME ON!!

This course and field is an all time banger.
Does course run on the Champs-Élysées?
He's gonna get run down
Incredibly, Kipchoge is still marching on in 71st. His 25-30k split was 21:05.
Tola goes back to flat, can he keep it? Geleta was also looking strong
ngl I'm panicking. I had $550 potential returns on Abdi winning, I cashed out $30 at 31KM because he looked spent, but now he's back up into 4th
Two thoughts on Tola:
1. I’m kicking myself for not picking him in my top 3 for the prediction contest.
2. Impressive flex by Ethiopia to have its alternate leading the race at this stage.

Is Wanjiru’s 2:06:32 OR possibly in play?
I honestly expected a 2:10+ time but I think they just said they're on 2:08 pace, they're done with the hills, and Tola looks great. A 2:06 is in play, but he could still pay for how hard he took those hills
chase group is working together. They will hunt him down.
Tola looks better on the uphills compared to the flat sections.
Kipchoge now in 3rd...
from last.
Even Korir is just ahead of Gramps.
Tamirat Tola still up 17 seconds, so hanging tough for now
Alas, jello mouth isn't a thing with her

I believe the kids call that "paper hands" these days.
Sedjati under investigation. L'Equippe says searches were conducted by police in Olympic Village.
USA 400m Trials winner Kendal Ellis pulled from women's 4x400m only minutes before the race.
