Yes, he is charged, 8 counts. Formal arraignment on Monday. Yes, he has a lawyer. Most likely a public defender.

They are being reported. They aren't continuously reported because they are basic details that no one, except you apparently, is interested in asking about at this point, and the answers are easy to find online.

And I could suggest that your response like many others here make it pretty clear what you and others will believe and not believe.

Like everyone else, there are stories in the news that I believe and others that I believe key facts are withheld (at least initially). In this case my initial impression was that it was a nut case and I had no opinion about his/her political agenda. Given what has now been reported (and not reported) I would not be surprised if it was a sexual or drug encounter gone wrong. (There were reports of Paul having drugs in his system with his dui). I do not yet believe this possibility but it seems like the most likely because that would explain how he entered the house without triggering an alarm, how he had no weapon (the hammer was Paul's), how he "didn't know who David was" but knew David's first name, and the zip ties. Security footage and body cam video's could easily proof this wrong so let's see them.

I will add one more comment at this time. If you believe all the attacks on the character of police over the last several years and the possible pressure to keep quiet from people of influence, no one should be surprised if people think the police and withholding key information that would change the story.
