This week, one candidate for president posted a photoshopped pic of the other candidate, hogtied in the back of a pickup truck. And this guy still has a path to the White House? Future generations, if there are any, will never understand what America was thinking from 2016 on.

Well they'll have the facts at their disposal, like the fact that a company that deals in the sub prime auto loan market was the only one willing to underwrite trump's $175 million appeal bond in a fraud suit.

Hopefully they'll be able to study it and learn from our mistakes, but I kinda doubt it. History repeating itself and all that.

America was thinking that we just voted to reinforce the 2nd Amendment
Anti America was thinking we just voted for Russian assets

The vote is in November Noyankee, and I have no issue with the 2nd Amendment. If I could snap my fingers and every last gun in America could go poof, I would. We'd be a better country without them. But we can't do that and so I believe in a citizen's right to purchase a gun to defend themselves. Is that what you want to talk about today? Guns? Will we pivot into LGBT issues again if you get confused?

Sally lives for this type of exchange... jump randomly between different fake doomsday issues and then pivot when he can't counter argue

People only truly learn from experience, and our life spans are just too short for issues as young as 50 years ago to significantly shape today's perspectives. Also, people have to hit rock bottom and have no choice but to face reality... without a great tangible loss as a catalyst, almost half of this country will continue to be defiant dumbfks yearning for clowns like Trump to "lead".
So how will the mass exodus from DJT stock happen? Surely many larger shareholders will want to get ahead of the inevitable stock dumping by Trump as soon as he's allowed to. How far down will the stock get pushed by the time Trump can sell? I don't know what the price action will look like until anovemeber, but I suspect it'll be under $2 or so after he loses in November.

I think I was a little too mean there. I wouldn't mind an actual conversation about guns. It's one issue that I actually agree with Republicans on for the most part.

I live in a state where guns are huge, but I am not really into guns at all. My little brother almost shot me in the face when we were kids. Again, I don't really like guns at all. But if you were to take all the guns away, you are still going to have bad people trying to do you harm or take away from you what you own. So, guns, unfortunately, are a necessity though I probably won't ever own one.

I don't want to own one either. One bad shroom trip and there I go. I think the biggest thing is worrying about mass shootings and random acts of violence, but I actually feel safer in Georgia than I did in Illinois because I know people here are carrying. If you wanted to shoot up somewhere in Georgia, you're gonna get shot pretty quick. My conservative friend that I love to talk about so much conceal carries all the time, and will run towards the gunshots (happened when we heard some shots visiting NOLA). The vigilante heroism stuff is kind of cringe to me most of the time because it seems to serve the purpose of imagined self-aggrandizing, but I don't mind that these wannabe heroes are out there ready to shoot if something goes awry.

The video is there - with CNN's Erin Burnett. Please watch.
First thought it RFK Jr sounds like he has a sore throat or something. Doesn’t sound good. Maybe it’s my laptop speakers but Erin sounds fine.
Second thought is that Trump would do the same, and if the FBI deems Trump to be enough of a major threat to take extreme actions, then that would validate my opinion that Trump is an extremely dangerous person to elect president. I also doubt he’s the first president in history to do any of this.

And yet, we did have COVID. How many hundreds of thousands of people - or even a few million - could legitimately claim, "My relative/friend died of COVID IN PART due to the utterly uncaring behavior and anti-leadership of Trump" ?
But it would appear that the number who acknowledged this wase small enough not to move the needle. Or only very, very little.
As just said on the Trump thread, the ONLY thing that seems to work a lot of the time IS TO WORK FOR HIM.
