Families are battling the highest inflation rate since 1990, according to the Labor Department. However, consumers in certain regions are getting hit harder than others.
Your logic is peculiar. The other poster's anecdote was also clearly a personal anecdote, whether labelled as such or not. Were you sharing an anecdote just now with the intent to enrage us all, or do you maybe realize that personal anecdotes shouldn't get others worked up?
I think you could apologize to the poor fellow for your brittle response...

But contradicts your initial comment.."I'm just saying it seems avoidable for people in my situation".
And don't be so huffy about being called out on a lie.
The things I get called for posting data and news items that some don't like would blow your hair back.
being wrong is different than a lie.
the nicer we can keep it on this thread the better. Just say I'm wrong and tell me why I'm wrong. No need to call me a liar.
On the politics thread, whatever go to town.
I keep my receipts in monthly folders for tax purposes. I generally go to Costco each week. Comparing trips over two weeks in January and two in June I found Organic Romaine Lettuce dropped 70 cents and Whole Milk stayed the same. However, Portugal Santos Red Wine $4.79 to $5.99, Half and Half $3.79 to $4.79, Cashews $15.89 to $16.69. Hard to compare meat and fish without per pound amounts. Package items like Paper Towels you may be paying similar price for less volume. In fact I read this has become common practice.
Started to accumulate SARK this morning. My best guess is S&P 500 moves to 3,950-4,050 by the July Fourth Holiday. Then as earnings shows up not so good the S&P 500 resumes its decline. Hard to imagine Wood stocks delivering good earnings.
Hard to know. Things in the economy haven't really gotten bad yet, but we've also been down >15% for quite awhile now. Not sure fear is going to last... People might be starting to think longer term... Or this is just a blip and we see 3500 in a month. Hard to say.
My sense is that the market is looking around the corner and seeing all these very significant deflationary forces building. Almost every major price spike is coming back down, quickly.
Add to that the economic slowdown, and they're seeing the Fed's work as almost done. So maybe the Fed will raise rates to 2% or 2.5%....which is completely fine and not disruptive to the world. The Fed can then stop, and not be forced to throw the country into recession. Prices will come down on their own.
So stocks all of a sudden look much more appealing, without a recession.
Big hurdle is June 30...a PCE number comes out then and if it shows hot inflation then the market will fall back down.

Vix currently at 27. agip astutely observed at Vix ~35 the market was oversold and a good long trading opportunity. The last two rallies Vix dropped to ~25. Is Vix approaching a trade-able short?
Why did you edit that quote to say jamin wrote it? Do you think agip and jamin are the same person? 😳
Actually I copied the agip post and it appeared as you cited but with no editing from me. So go figure. Or, 🤔 perhaps the bug you planted to continue your diabolical trolling. 😹
