Hey Clark hater... guess who just became the first female and only basketball player to sign a deal with Wilson Sporting Goods Co., the league’s official basketball supplier, since Michael Jordan himself...
Clark will “test, advise and provide feedback on a range of basketball products, become a brand ambassador and release new collections that celebrate her". She will also “creatively direct her first-ever signature basketball line”.
So more bank for Ms. Clark. When shall we expect a new post telling us how much she is failing??
WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier are putting together a 3 on 3 elite league. It will feature higher salaries and take place during the WNBA off season so there will be no conflicts to playing in both leagues.
Unrivaled plans to pay a minimum six-figure salary and offer the highest average salary in U.S. women’s professional sports when it launches in January 2025, with the backing of Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, Alex Morgan,...
“The principle of our league is that it's the top talent, and women need to be paid accordingly,” Collier told Yahoo Sports ahead of the announcement. “We need to be treated as professionals, and so that was a huge thing, is making sure that this is transformative, and something that’s new is we’re going to be paying players what they should be paid.”
If WNBA players want to be treated as professionals, why don't they get women to actually watch WNBA?
this is probably the best thing for Clark. she could certainly use the rest and didnt need to further add to the resentments of the veterans and pre-Clark WNBA fans who would insist her inclusion was simply about ratings. but a lot of the "I only care about Caitlin Clark" fans are certainly losing their minds right now on social media...
Yeah thats why it took a WNBA player to boost lagging ratings for the NBA All Star game weekend. Ratings peaked Saturday night during her shootout with Curry then dropped after. But keep telling yourself nobody watches womens sports.
People are showing up to watch CC. When she goes off to the WNBA all this hoopla will die down and all the crowds will go away.
with the numbers you posted above its probably a good time to bring back this little gem of a post. 😂
Arike Ogunbowale responded to being left off the USA women's basketball roster for the 2024 Olympics, saying she realizes politics is part of the process.
Three months ago I couldn't care less whether W basketball existed. Flipping channels this morning and watched a few minutes of Indiana playing in front of a mostly full arena. I was entertained. I've now watched more W basketball than M basketball over the last three weeks.
Good for W and good for anyone who wants to support.
