I've been spending a LOT more time on Reddit these days. Sort of reverse frying-pan-into-fryer, but there's less and less valuable info here, in my opinion. That said, this place is sort of fun in its own right - a 90s board not "beholden" to anyone (up to debate).

which sites or forums on reddit do you find worthwhile?
Add a toggle to the account page for registered users that allows them to not see unregistered comments. If they want to self-censor, let them. But please make an announcement to all these old geezers to STFU with their constant whining about having to see comments that they don’t like. And possibly remind them that this site isn’t a democracy. If they don’t like it, don’t visit.
For sure, that's the last thing the brojos want, is to lose people. Smartest thing to do would be moderate better; you won't lose the trolls, but you will lose the regular posters if you allow the trolling and other idiocy to continue.
If I didn’t enjoy the good people I would just leave, which I may do anyway. At a certain point it is a waste of time dealing with deviant personalities.
It is possible to track fake voting and stockers in an automated way. Once tracked, all kind of info can be logged to determine behavior and an effective, lasting strategy to ban. But letsrun will need to hire a proper CS / engineer to do it.
My stance on this trans thing and the gay thing has done me in, here you must be in favor of both if not you are a villian, No matter what I try to talk about some troll ruins it. We wouldn't have all these trolls if we had to register, Having to own your stuff would make a big difference.
The mods would have it so much easier if they just had registered posters only.
Knowing what they say can be tracked back to you is a lot different that being hid away.
+1
Is it too much to ask to have a safe space where I can complain about people who aren't straight, cis, WASPs?
.. and from the same poster on the same thread ("Transvestite militants attack speaker trying to save women's sports"), this one, both of which are clearly meant to denigrate and demean certain category of people. Shameful. And this site is supposed to be open and welcoming?

Isn’t that what Grindr is for?
I know loads of gays. They would find my comment funny. Clearly part of the problem with this site is that far too many posters are uptight, humorless bores.

It’s wild. Sometimes my jokes don’t land as I hope but blows my mind people get so worked up.
Is there any way the "running thread only" box can be enforced? There are so many crazy off-topic threads that are marked running related. I've reported them, explaining why, yet they stay up.
We will work on this this week.
You didn’t work very hard on it. Here’s one of many examples - why have categories if you don’t remotely moderate them?
May I please acknowledge the fact that this message board has a thread discussing "Farting while Running" with not nearly the number of "This post was removed" relics as this one trying to discuss Official site moderation policies.
What might we gather from that? LOL.
A very good question. It’s amazing how hard the moderators will fight to keep the ability to delete a post. Try posting on this thread:
I can only speak for myself…so I will. The moderation on this site is squeezing out the fun, humor, and silliness that made letsrun a great place to visit after a hard day. The forum is much more conventional and norma...
It was supposedly reserved by Robert as a place to discuss moderation. But the moderators got to where they were deleting nearly every post I made, and others, too. I sent emails to Robert and Weldon, but nothing changed.
I used to be on this site nearly every day, posting frequently. I thought this was a good site to exchange ideas and have interesting discussion. But the putative, heavy handed moderation has driven me away.
This is my first post in several weeks. I got tired of responding to threads that then disappeared without a trace. Also got tired of having one post after the next deleted by the mods. No joke, it almost seemed like at least one moderator was waiting for me to post, just so he/she could delete it. A real waste of time.
