Imagine if Guardian (often cited on Wikipedia as "truth") actually had evidence of its Paul Manafort tale with Ecuador embassy in London. This is the newspaper most trusted by UK people, and most read by UK impressionable youth. But of course the whole story is a Hoax, yet so many believe it in UK, because their news told them (27 Nov). It's even worse with the Royals, any officialdom story is accepted as factual.

So you can see, from Western example how Propaganda machines work. No amount of evidence will defeat the acceptance, once the lie is repeated enough. It's only those who are outside the loop who can hope to break it.

Firstly, it's not only the moon landing that is under dispute, but also the moon exploration (on Hollywood-esque terrain), the moon trip with USA astronauts (both directions, crossing van Allen both ways). OTOH the moon program (it's true purposeness known only to a select crowd) is clearly valid (NASA), just like Saddam Hussein had a WMD program going (it's production and/or production capability therein being disputed, likely of yellowcake value). To address the stated point, China is one of the most authoritarian countries around and can easily induce its scientists to self-censor the truth. Moreover, even if one of them dared to speak out (speaking hypothetically of/c), how do you think USA/Western media would respond? Likely just ignore, and perhaps would even heckle. When you control the propaganda outlet venues, it's easy to blast the narrative.

That's why it's so important to exposing that cultural leaders like USA Basketball's Stephen Curry to keep placing NASA's feet to the fire. Their quick riposte in denunciation shows how vital they want to keep a lid on.

I know perfectly well that the moon landing denialists are completely delusional, as well as ignorant of science and scientific thinking, but actual conspiracies do exist.

I'll offer the alleged Gulf of Tonkin attacks used as justification to escalate the Vietnam War. Nowadays it's well-known that least the second, and possibly the first as well, attacks never happened.

Additionally, the U.S.S. Maine incident used to justify the Spanish-American War is taught in schools today as "probably not an actual attack" and an example of yellow journalism. William Randolph Hearst, one of the great fake news peddlers of his time, famously wrote to his correspondent in Cuba, before the incident, "You furnish the pictures and I'll furnish the war." Why do think USA astronomers trained in Photography? The story (real or part of hoax) is so they could take pictures, with no discernful purpose other than for obedient USA media release.
