Believe me I do mate, I've been to the pool and stationary bike in the past far too often!
For me today, medium-long run this morning (1:35, ~23km) and easy recovery run (30:00, ~7km) in the arvo.

Holy shit, Batman! Tell us more about yerself. What are you training for?
Today I went to the track in the late a.m. when it was about 33C with a light breeze - not as obscenely warm as I had feared. 25min jog on the trails, a couple of strides on grass, donned spikes, 4x100m warmup runs in 23-19-17-16, 400m in 65, 10min grass jog. The 400m felt very good - sort of 85% effort, feeling particularly strong on the last 100m. Good!
I have a training program.This summer goal is 3:00 min for 1200.One workout I ran 6 easy, 10x300@50 1 min rest jog 15min 1x1000 in 2:32
My run today, steady 38:13. AHR 144 MHR 159.
After an easy day, a tempo day, and an off day, it was back to the track. My coach had me do 4 x 1 M cutdown: 5:32, 5:24, 5:15, 5:10. Felt easy. 20 minute w/u and c/d also. What do you guys think of this workout. Thanks.
2 miles. 10 pounds lost, 50 more to go.
2x3 miles on the road with two min jog in between 3 miles. 17:06,16:50,1 mile easy.
Short on time, 10:00 hard.
35 minutes easy, legs are starting to feel the burn from 35 miles in 4 days.
holy lactic acid batman I did 3x one miles with one min. jogs; 5:01, 4:55, 4:41. Don't you think I'm ready for a 15:15 5 km?

I think it's very starnge that you "raced" a 5k in 19:42, then criticised Pete and me.
Today I did 30min jog + 4 short strides + 8:04 "tempo" + 15min jog.
15:00-10 5k. Robin your ready.

Your advice, on the other hand, was just plain bad. No offense, but I hope you don't coach any serious runners. My coach says you have a lot to learn. I think she is right.

What advice was that, specifically? Telling you how fast I think you can race a 5k based on your workouts? Or something else?
I did 6 x 150 w/250j (21 s avg) and a looooong cooldown including 6 brisk miles at 135-140 bpm (~ 6:30ish) today, and will run some more easy mileage later this afternoon.
Two days ago I bagged a planned 1500 due to a lingering flue/cold bug. Feel better today though. That same day, I wrenched my frickin back lifting a goddam tub full of my son's books. I should know better.... lift with your LEGS, goddamit, not your back. Still hurts today, but it's getting better thankfully.
Next week, bob willing, I will race 800 and/or 3000.
