Wow. Won it by a baby's hair width.
And the commentary desk (NBC)! The declaration of Thompson winning, then the long, LONG complete silence. A truly odd call, lol!
That camera angle wasn't the best. Watching live I thought Lyles was only 3rd and Kenny 2nd
Agreed, but you have to mean Fred.
Eurosport commentator: Lyles ran a 1,000cm race and needed every single one of those to win that race.
Congrats USA!

Looked like Kishane might've tightened up in the last 20, I was worried about that. Downside of not being pushed at all in the rounds
Yes he did.
All credit to Lyles, he ran his best.
Kishane's form is pretty crap for a 9.7 guy, so when he tidies that up he'll be by himself ahead of the rest in 9.6 territory.
Nobody said, "hey this into music is kind of long?" not one person?
Wind +1.0m/s, makes 9.79 even more impressive.
i'm an idiot, this was a tailwind

This wait is going to screw up the race.
In Athens in 2004 they were on the track 15 to 20 minutes before the race finally started
Please Kenny B… become a 200/400 guy!
NBC 100m coverage sucked. They never did show the entire results. They left us wondering about Kerley's bronze for like 10 minutes. Thank GOD for Letsrun.com.
Got to hand it to Lyles. When you bring main character energy, you better make sure that you're the main character when the dust settles. If he ever gets that start right, he could be down in the 9.6s
Agree. I actually thought it was Lyles myself, so when Boldon called it for Thompson, I was surprised.
Moraa is so annoying.
Haters officially being sent to the Shadow Realm.

Sorry, it was Leigh Diffy who called it.

rewatching so much respect for the race he ran. he never gave up even when behind.
it's easy to say he always does that he trusts his speed
but to believe in himself and his speed at the ultimate moment is next level
