We see with MAS, it matters how we define things. It makes a difference if you use a 5min or 8min all-out for MAS. 8minutes is too long imo. Billat et al, found that tlim (time to exhaustion at vVO2max) is inverse correlated to performance.
CV/CS/CP is in the area of 88-92%VO2max, typically 90%. So i have CV = 90%MAS (on average).
Don't disagree you at all here. I only picked MAS for the easy runs because it's relatively easy to work out (I picked 6 mins as the guide) and it results in probably a slower run, than people are currently doing. It's an arbitrary figure for sure - but the goal is just to make sure the easy runs are easy and I had recently read a book that used this formula, which resulted in the "slowest" easy runs I think I had seen coaches suggest. I don't hate your CV or even Hard2find version of intervals as a % of something as long as it scales up or down I guess. I think you guys are probably the ones to work together and find a solution for this. I'm just not scientific enough. I think I'm good at training and understanding what can work, but my lack of science is clear which is why I try to avoid getting involved too much into depth about such things.
I'm currently helping a few friends with workouts, I think for them it's just easier when I say run 1-2 seconds per km slower than HM pace for 8 min or 2k reps. But I realise that's not ideal either.
I think I'm understanding my own running power a bit more now and am starting to be able to index % of that to paces etc. But this needs time.
