Russian troops have been in and out of the Donbas region for the past 8 years. This is just barely above the status quo and Ukrainian soldiers haven't even been ordered to do anything yet.
He's managed to target the one thing in the world right now experiencing a price decrease. If this isn't a sign then I don't know what is
Out STANDING.
I'll sell my Mazda3, which has among the most appreciation, and snag an Alfa, which has the least. Used car arbitrage. I'm back on Team Joe.
This is typical for me though. I can't stand any running shoes but one brand so I'm always on the outs there. No next tempo 9% whatever. I can only buy Italian and French clothes because of my weird running body.
Anyway, that's a great story thanks.
In other news, VIX just crossed 30. Not high enough to mean much - but if we get to the mid-30s that would be significant.

which running shoe? Not that I'm about to start anything pertinent to running on a running messageboard, or anything....

Adidas. Only brand I've found that is narrow enough for my foot. I'm sure there's something else out there but I don't want to spend thousands and create all that waste trying to find it. And after 10 years of running in basically the same shoe, nothing else feels right anymore. I have a closet full of old Adidas shoes I'm working through. Classic old man runner. Boost lasts 1000 miles, easy though, which is lucky.
Have to say, that's normally high enough to start buying. has to be a bounce in stocks the next day or two. And buying when the VIX is this high is almost always the right move if you think in terms of years instead of weeks.

I really like the adidas boston boost, one of my go-to shoes when i get tired of the carbon sole shoes, that i usually run in otherwise. I like the way they look, too,

funny thing, that shoe. when I'm out of shape it feels like it has no cushioning and I am slamming the ground every step ouch. But when I'm in shape it has just the right sublime balance of voom and softness. Sort of an incentive to get in shape I guess. But yeah that's my mainstay. I have two in roration and two brand new ones in the closet. I figure I'm good for another 3 years with that setup. I have some old Adios 5s too, which I race in.
I have the new Adios 6 but it's not quite working for me. More cushioning, which is nice on easy days, but I slap with it, and I hate a shoe that slaps.

The thing is, i first got the adios, a few years ago, and it just didn't have enough cushioning for me at all. When i switched to the boston boost, it felt so much better by comparison, i was sold on it.
Hey, gonna give you another try on rap music. Since we talked last, I've been checking a bunch of it out, and i just can't get enough of the Beastie Boys. Maybe that would be more to your liking (?). It's doing it for me. "Sure Shot", a good one, among a lot of others.

There is no shoe I'd rather run fast in than the Adios 5. It just perfectly matches my running. I get to do a workout in them tomorrow. Ah these are the good times. Although I do wonder how much time I'm giving up to the next tempo 12% or whatever the heck they are up to now.
I'll take a listen to the Beasties you recommend. A couple of their songs are on my 'rap songs for people who don't like rap' playlist. Sabotage, fight for your right.
With 99 problems, Without Me, Gold Digger, OPP, ice Ice Baby, Hey Ya, King of Rock, a couple others.
meanwhile, the market bounced very hard, and to the minute, off VIX 32.
In the first instance, I was suggesting that your opinion was immature and shaped by a limited world view. In the second instance, I'm calling your retort childish.
Maybe I'm misreading you though, in which case I apologize. Maybe you're being deliberately ironic, like with the "stocks only go up" schtick?

I have always been able to wear all running shoes, but the Tiger seems a narrow fit. My current favorites are Hoka Clifton for flats, Brooks Ghost for tempos, Nike Vapor Fly for road racing, and Nike Air Zoom Victory. In 1965 I started high school cross country in Hyde spikes. Flat shoe I believe was converse. We qualified for the 10th grade LA championship, and my father agreed to buy me a better shoe. A teammate recommended a specialty store that sold Adidas, the only one in LA. The shoe I selected was the Melbourne ‘56 with Kangaroo uppers, and non-removable spikes.
Wife just returned hime. Plumbing all connected, but lost 10 pounds. She requested trout, mash potatoes, and ice cream for dinner.

Pasta with some wine would be a favorite for the wife. For the short run she needs to stick with things easy to digest and no alcohol. I am tired from cleaning the house in preparation for her return. I’ll be adding that to my cross training list for the next couple of weeks.
Lol Igy, make sure to hand-scrub some floors, that is always a great workout!😁
Hey idiot, you might want to dial back the self-deprecation. Too much and it comes off as fake.
I was thinking of your mention of loss aversion. You might want to take a look at Prospect Theory, it might be amusing, it might inspire some thoughts.
