something I've been thinking about...if BTC and the whole crypto economy did collapse...what would the effect be on the stock market?
I'd like to think that the crazy sh/tcoin people are just clicking away in some other financial universe, but they are not. If hundreds of billions of dollars evaporates (which I still assume will happen), there will be a negative consequence on the stock market and it won't be just tech stocks and meme stocks.
So do we prepare for that?
Wish I knew more about options...maybe wait until the VIX gets back under 20 and then buy some long dated out of the money puts as protection? That's how this works, right? I have never bought an option and truly I do not understand them any better than a cursory look on wikipedia would teach me.
But in theory I'd be willing to give up some return for insurance against a crypto crash affecting the stock market.
