Take a rest with your nonsense my friend,
You first Vipam
my post are no different from VAST NUMBER of articles or commentary you'll find about top athletes all over the world. In describing athletics its routine to add descriptive terms whether its in regards to the athlete or performance.
Ludicrous. No IAAF or T&FN article I have ever read cites the Ethiopians as "mighty" and fawns over them like some sort of teenage girl screaming for the Backstreet Boys.
The statement of me downgrading Shaheen, El Guerrouj, and Kipchoge is ridiculous. I may have said that Kenenisa would beat them or something to that nature, but just becaue I don't think their better athletes than Kenenisa doesn't mean I'm downgrading them. In fact those 4 are definitely in the top 5 distance runners competing in any event today.
Not at all. On many occasions you have stubbornly refused to admit that El Guerrouj and Kipchoge, by virute of having beaten Bekele, deserve more merit than you give them credit for.
DON'T tell me you haven't run across articles announcing Kenenisa Bekele as the new Emperor or calling the Ethiopians, Kenyans, and sometimes even the female Japanese marathons mighty?
Not like you make it out to be, that's for sure. There's a big difference between admiration and obsession.
So I assume you think Hicham will not only break the 5000m WR but run sub 12:30 before he retires in 2006?
If you want to put words in my mouth, then consider that true. If you want to read what I actually said, disregard that prediction.
As for your fanatacism, I propose we get Wejo to poll on everyone who has read your posts on the front page with a simple question:
"Does Vipam exhibit an unhealthy fascination with Ethiopian distance runners and specifically with Kenenisa Bekele?"
Answer possibilities are yes or no. I would be surprised if more than 50% said no.
Remember that I did compliment you on the detail and time you spend posting informative predictions. But the guessing ridiculous times down to the tenth of a second (26:03.5? He's at 26:20, what indicates he will improve 17 seconds? Have you watched him train? Probably not) irks me and others.
