are you implying that Sedjati was just a random guy turned into one of the greatest 800m runners ever in his 20s by a super drug.
Nope, just saying Jakob and Sedjati have very different circumstances surrounding them
So what? Doping dopers can have very different circumstances and still be doping dopers. How is it that Jakob is running 3:26 and he is clean? So many great runners who doped couldn’t come close to that. Jakob is ruthless. He shows sociopathic tendendcies. But he is your white angel.
I think there is a case to be made that negative splitting, especially with the lights, is Jakobs supreme strength. I mean just look at the splits 55.8 55.4 55.3 40.36. Is this the most even run 3:26 of all time?
Glad that Rai beat that smug SOB, Warholm. I wish that dos Santos & CJ Allen had also. I don’t know who I hate more - Warholm or Jakob.
I've learned to like Warholm. I think that he can turn it off if he wants to, unlike Jakob. It was good to see Rai win, but if he breaks my heart this time, we're through.
No. That race was a PB for her. She's a high 49 runner who has improved consistently and slowly, but she can't run the times that'll be needed to medal. She reminds me of Mujinga Kambundji in that she's a great competitor who can dominate most of the other Europeans, and if there's a medal to be won with a comparatively slow time, she'll do it more often than not, but she couldn't medal last year against a weaker field.
Paulino is looking as good as she's ever looked, Adeleke is better than last year, and she's not coming off an NCAA season. Kaczmarek looked a little tired in her last race, but she's broken 49. She has a chance if one of the big three AND Sada Williams AND Nickisha Price don't pan out.
Yep I asked the same. Way off her best for the last month or so.
Been wondering the same. Europeans was scrappy (and possibly a foul on that stretch run), but I figured she'd be getting near her best of past seasons like Gourley has for instance. But instead of 3:56 type performances it hasn't looked too good.
You gotta wonder how Hoppel would have fared. Maybe 1:42 mid?? Tough field
You don't think he would have run faster than Ben Pattison, who went under 1:44 for the first time? I think he'd have been in the top 3 or 4. He's stronger than Arop this year. Lots of people were running 1 or 2 second PBs. There's no catching Sedjati right now, but he would have beaten Arop.

That race was absolutely perfect for Hoppel. Brutal withdrawal.
Yeah it was - so bizarre to actually be there, to have travelled all that way across time zones etc etc....and then scratch.
As for Sedjati, like it is what it is. We've kind of seen it all now including the rocket boosters off the final turn in a sub 1.41.5 race now.
This messageboard isn't the only one noticing - the former head of sports marketing at a pretty large brand just made the comment it's time to "pull him from Paris" ^^
Says it all really...
I agree that race was a good setup for Hoppel; he does best with a fast pace and athletes to fight to the finish.
Separate issue; the problem with doping is sometimes it makes you too strong to be believable. When you run 1:41x (800m) with 13 seconds last 100m, you should layed out on the track at the finish.
