Putin wanted a buffer from NATO. His efforts resulted in doubling NATO borders with Russia, 300,000 NATO soldiers at the ready to defend NATO nations, and a de facto war where NATO is funding and supplying Ukraine. Big lose for Russia and essentially its people who are screwed for at least a generation.
Finland is basically the Arctic. It is not feasible for nato to launch an attack on Russia through Finland. Also, no pipelines run through Finland. How will Soros steal 20% off the top on Nat Gas flowing through the Ukraine from Finland? So, yeah, who cares?
Soon Russia will control the resource and industrial foundation of the former Ukraine in the east and all access to the Black Sea in the south. While nato and the G7 are getting all the press, the old soviet block countries and China, India, Argentina, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil have become much closer. Now, because of US bullying and sanctions, all these countries are seeing that they can be next and are suddenly very motivated to cooperate. Putin now effectively controls the Caspian, where NATO has zero control or even access, and can supply the forward operations on the Black Sea from there.
Turkey has become a major wild card. if Turkey leaves NATO then Putin could conceivably control the Black Sea as well and supply forward positions in the Aegean Sea and Mediterranean. Wow. Talk about a galactic miscalculation on the part of the pentagon. But hey, at least the US military defense contractors have earned billions.
Contrary to what you’re being fed in the “news”, instigating this proxy war in the Ukraine has been a colossal blunder by the neo-cons at the pentagon.

Missiles and jets will launch just fine from Finland, and Finland is ideally positioned to facilitate a naval blockade of St. Petersburg.
Russian ships are banned from European and American shipping lanes. Shipping fleets can not obtain insurance if they carry Russian cargo. Good luck with that new plan.
You realize that the next round of sanctions will target nations that trade with Russia. This war and sanctions is far from over.

Inflation in Europe is already something that EVERYONE is complaining about. Every round of sanctions is only gonna worsen the inflation. How long untill majority of EU citizens will gladly sacrifice Ukraine to be able to afford rent, electricity, gas and other necessities?
This is a war we can't win. If Ukrainians want European standards, they should live their lifes differently, otherwise it is just a different kind of Russia, just like Belarus.
A naval blockade of Russia is not an escalation, it is a declaration of war. In such a war, whose navy will be enforcing this blockade? Finland’s? Latvia’s? It’s one thing to send 1000s of surface to air missiles to Ukraine, a very different thing to provide battleships and nuclear subs to the Baltic states. Nope. It will be the US vs Russia. In that case, would Russia focus on the pawns in the Baltic or the Queen (US military installations in Europe) and King (continental US)? Do the Democrats and American people have the stomach for that?

How likely is a naval blockade really?
This.
Russian politicians already said that if nuclear war starts, London would be their first target. What they also said is that they dont care about "American vassal states" as which they see the whole Europe and that they will go straight to the source.
If you’re posting this from the US or you’re American you could be committing an act of treason by trying to influence US military actions to benefit foreign nations (Russia) over the internet.
Either way, Russia can’t afford the double blow of an expensive war and crippling sanctions for the length of time it will take them to defeat, occupy, rebuild and rule over Ukraine.
You Russian paid internet trolls better look for a new job.
Unlike the weird Putin fetishists, people who support Ukraine are generally in touch with reality and understand that a city falling to the Russians isn't a good thing. Strategic retreat is often the better choice and I'm glad the Ukraine military command is thinking strategically. I continue to hope that the Russian army will be reduced to twisted scraps of metal and unidentifiable organic blobs as the best possible outcome, and I am encouraged by recent progress in this regard.
How many sock puppet handles are you using to post factless Russophobic rants?
Whatever moral high ground you were staking claim to was forfeit once you stated "hope" that tends of thousands of people be "reduced to.... unidentifiable organic blobs".

I hope it is not treason to note this latest mind-bending double-speak from the Ukraine side.
Asked about Tochku-U missiles and and Tu-143 drones laden with explosives and cluster munitions being fired on Belgorod, Russia, this response was given:
"Yuriy Sak, advisor to the defence minister... denied Ukraine had deliberately targeted civilians, saying: 'There was no official statement on the part of the general staff of the armed forces of Ukraine, but it has been very many times repeated by our military and political leadership that unlike the Russian aggressor, Ukrainian armed forces are never targeting civilian targets.
This means that this was impossible that it was Ukrainian armed forces who attacked the city.
The reasons for those explosions could be various. In the past, we have seen that Russian armed forces are creating such provocations themselves."
So the logic is this: We didn't claim the attack. Therefore it is impossible we made the attack. The Russians probably attacked their own city.

You must be a lot of fun at a party.
Yeah guess what, when a foreign country invades another one with absolutely no cause, then the defenders have the moral high ground and the invaders can all go shove their faces in a blender and hit frappé just to do the world a favor. The Russian soldiers are volunteers, and plenty of them have refused to fight. So if they volunteer to take a turn raping and looting in Ukraine and instead end up as jiggling blobs of unidentifiable organic matter, some roasted to ash and some still raw, I'll be clapping and cheering for every Javelin missile or HIMARS round that sends them on their way.
If Russia doesn't want bombs falling on their cities, they should stop firing missiles at Ukrainian cities and remove their soldiers as fast as possible. Until then, the occasional bomb might just end up dropping on Belgogrod, especially since Russian air defense is garbage and is only knocking the missiles off their course towards military targets rather than destroying them. Even drooling idiots who only pay attention to the news once a month know that Belgogrod is the main logistics center for Russia's invasion and is full of military targets.
Hahahahaha. hilarious. While I have little respect for the neocons at the pentagon I do not for one second think they are “influenced” by anonymous posters on the letsrun web site. Next you’ll tell us that mumbling the same kinds of sentiments into your bathroom mirror may also constitute treason since America’s military strategists may have your house bugged and be listened to every word you say.
This kind of irrational hysterical comment makes me think you are part of the Azov Battalion. heil!

Ukraine is a terrorist state. Is it absolutely no cause?

I don't live in US. i live in Europe. I'm not a "paid Russian troll", i'm a professional runner, i just stated what the Russian representatives said.
To those, forgetting or not knowing Ukrainian history and saying Russia will have trouble controlling taken territory, I can assure, that they will not have problems keeping these parts of Ukraine.
