Olympic Champs several times European Champ. 2x 5k champ, yep we can figure out what a championship race is just fine. Jakob took in on the chin in 2022 said his tactics sucked, last years 1500m he was sick. He's Olympic Champ at 1500m and will repeat! Kerr may not even get a medal!
I think Sedjati might be clean. If Coe/Cruz were running high 1:41s 40 years ago clean, Sedjati certainly can be now.
New shoes, good pacing, better tracks, etc and if Coe focused on the 800m more than the 15, he'd be low 1:41s now for sure.
Sedjati is only 1 of like 20 world class 800m runners who've improved by 1.5 seconds or more this year. Are they all on drugs?, or are we just seeing the same improvements in the 8 that we've seen in the 15, 5k, marathon which have been attributed to improved technology.
No? But he did not run REMOTELY THIS FAST BEFORE. A month before eugene he ran 3:46 in Oslo in the mile, which converts to around 3:29. In eugene his finishing time was 3:29. See the pattern here?
Why am I being downvoted? It's simple what happened in Eugene, he was not good enough to win. Which is apparent with his slowerish 3:46 mile. In Budapest and what is now Paris, he is much more better to win barring illness/injury
The odds are obviously against it for a variety of reasons, but I’ll pose the question - if Jakob were to win Olympic gold and break Hicham’s WR at the same time, would it be the greatest distance feat ever?
