I wonder what took them so long. Did they want to make the decision so ironclad that Thomas, Alito et al cannot possibly leave Donald room to wiggle? Did they want to make it clear that if the USSC takes it up and sits on it so that the Jan 6 trial is delayed beyond the election, that would be disastrous to democracy? No president should have the ability to order the assassinatin of Supreme Court Justices and members of the Press.
The only president who's actually executed American citizens without congressional approval is Obama...
How about a Presidential immunity policy that Trump wanted? So the US could become like Russia where no crimes are punishable for the monarch? (I mean President)
Honestly, I think it's just legalese nonsense to push the trial after the election. The constitution is crystal clear that the president is immune from prosecution while he's in office.
Well here is your chance to set SCOTUS, the entire legal establishment and +240 years of jurisprudence straight.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
If the president is accused of a crime he isn't prosecuted as president.
This is obvious. If it is not part of the job you are not immune.

They felt that had a lot to write about, including many pages dedicated to whether they even had jurisdiction or not. Strangely, both Trump and the prosecution agreed the appeals court had jurisdiction and the appeals court only addressed it because and Amici had raised it.
They also addressed everything Trump argued in detail, which took many pages. The appear to have held there is no criminal immunity at all, even for acts within the "outer perimeter" of a president's official acts or duties. Maybe the SCOTUS can modify that, but it still goes back to the trial court no matter what. I don't think there is any way the SCOTUS says presidents get total immunity like Trump wants.
One thing I like in here is where they point out that during Trump's second impeachment proceeding, his lawyers argued that the appropriate place for such prosecution was in criminal court. So that backfired on him well. His lawyers just can't help wrapping theirselves around the axle over and over.
There's less people working now than in 2014. Things aren't great which is why 70% of the country thinks Biden is sh*tting the bed on the economy.
Someone didn't pay attention to the last CPI and PPI reports. Nor, did you pay attention to the Fed, that said they are done raising interest rates and will likely start dropping rates by June.
The only bad news in that article is that real average wages are down 2.4% during Biden's presidency. However, that number is higher than 2019 and has been rising since June 2022.
The American Rescue Plan act was signed in March 2021- Steve Hanke has mentioned that it takes 12-18 months to fully realize how monetary policy is working. So far during that time, the numbers have gotten better.
Thinks that presidents can be criminally prosecuted for killing terrorists in the War on Terror. Yes, he's actually that whacked in Trump love that he had to pretend this is relevant to anything.

Do you every get tire of being wrong.
What else you got?
You just didn't understand the CPI and PPI reports...
Inflation isn't down. It hasn't even stopped rising. The Fed's target is 2% and we're not even close yet. The Fed is hoping it will be down to 2% by June so they can quit raising rates.
This doesn't mean inflation is back at pre-Covid levels it means that the cost hikes are baked in and inflation is still rising at 2%.

I didn't say anything about prosecution. While you lefties invent hypothetical scenarios to act horrified about I was simply pointing out that Obama already executed US citizens without congressional approval including a 16 year old boy.
If Trump killed a 16 year old brown American with a hellfire missile you idiots would have lost your goddamn minds.

You were simply engaged in deflect and distract mode. Pretty standard stuff for a cult member.

I'm not a leftie, as you've been informed many times. Your idiotic mention of terrorists being killed in the War on Terror is some of your worst work in this thread. Just lame, dude. All around lame. Even on Twitter, that would come off as lame.
Do yourself a favor and read that Appeals court decision on presidential immunity. If you are able to understand it, post some thoughts on where you think they went wrong. I bet you can't. I bet you are not capable of doing that, hence the idiocy about Obama and killing terrorists with drones.

So you believe any relative of a terrorist is fair game for summary execution by presidential decree regardless of age.
I didn't say Trump was immune from prosecution I said he was immune from prosecution while in office which is exactly what the constitution says.

Can you point us to the Amendment that says "the President is immune from prosecution while in office"? I mean, I want to read for myself where it says that "exactly."

Come on...
If a president commits a crime he will be impeached.
After impeachment he is no longer in office and THEN the criminal prosecution occurs.

Nope.
Not even remotely the question you were fairly asked, based on your own post.
You said the Constitution says, "exactly" that the "President is immune from prosecution while in office."
I am asking for the Amendment that says "exactly" that. I don't really want to hear anything else from you. You wrote it. Back it up. Which Amendment says that?

What if the president speeds while driving his horse drawn carriage? Especially after receiving a warning the day before? Should he be free of prosecution unless he is impeached?

Which is pretty much exactly what is happening, and what the Court of Appeals just held is what the Constitution says and, very likely, the Supreme Court will as well.
Again, do yourself a favor and actually read the Court of Appeals opinion, so you can at least understand what other people are posting. Then you won't have to post stupid stuff about how you think the War on Terror was wrong in a thread about Donald Trump's legal cases -- i.e., you won't look like a MAG@ cult idiot as much.
