Jakob put on an absolute show. Just manhandled some of the world’s best on that last lap. Kerr is not winning a race like that.
I don’t know why everyone keeps bringing it back to Kerr.
Jakob is clearly back on top form and is leagues ahead. Interesting commentary from Cram and I’d agree with him. The Olympics are a different ballgame. No pacers, no race lights. If Jakob can run like he did today - push ahead and get a decent lead, he’ll win. If it turns slow and tactical then it may be more open.
No shade on Jakob but it will be different in the Olympics and that makes it exciting. He should win but we’ve seen upsets before.
Alfred's thighs are insane. They make base of gait significantly wider than normal. I guess the tremendous strength they generate offsets the biomechanical defect they create.
Kerr wouldn't be human if that performance didn't at least give him a little pause. We know championships are different but Jakob is also better than before - though note that it's been a few years since he's run on the magic track in Monaco. I'm still not calling a favourite for Paris, but it's clear that those two are a level above everyone else right now.
No? But he did not run REMOTELY THIS FAST BEFORE. A month before eugene he ran 3:46 in Oslo in the mile, which converts to around 3:29. In eugene his finishing time was 3:29. See the pattern here?
Holy s*** i am so glad i ponied up the 5.99 for peacock tv today. That was amazing. Going after world records not saving himself for the olympics, running from the front. I hope he gets double gold

It's funny how people say stuff like 'woah, Kerr will be crapping himself' - as if this isn''t the exact same status going into the last two major championships too.
Yeah I was 100% thinking the exact same thing.
Last time I checked the Olympic final won't have wavelight where he can run right at the crossover of a little blue and little yellow light that is set to the exact pace he wants it and that final will also be after 2 previous races in 3 days.
That's not to say he still can't win it but as you pointed out, this is no difference at all to the last 2 seasons going into the WCs and he didn't get the job done.
Jakob just broke 3:27, he ran 3:26.73 and made it look easy beating the field by 2 seconds. He's in world record shape for the 1500, right now. Boy did he look good. He seemed much fresher than the 3:43 plus mile from last year. I think he is in the best shape of his life. Watch out world!
After years of indifference I'm starting the Norwegian training method tomorrow.
- His fanboys will see him unbeatable right up to the final 100 metres of the final
- If he loses, i'm sure it'll turn out he's 'ill' again
- Nuguse is an American myth
"American myth" that ran a 3:43 mile...
He’s no myth, but he’s not looking like he was at the finish of last year. He hasn’t progressed, and maybe a tiny step back. It happens and means little for his career, but for Paris, he’s just one of a gaggle fighting for bronze.

I honestly think winning Pre is going to hurt Josh in the long run. The track bush league talk about placing less prestige on Olympics and WCs sounds like someone who has made it, but doesn't have same kind of hunger going into training for Paris.
